Wowzers, these are incredible! Thank you for sharing, that flatfish/bird blanket is mind-blowing! Might become a life goal.

Thank you for this thread! It is hard to fathom how people are coping especially in contexts without sick leave, flexible working, access to health and social care etc etc!

Seriously! The amount of unacknowledged and untreated suffering, with people battling on alone, it's mind-boggling!

Haha, exactly. Chaos as method!

Just 2 kinds of hell I think! Lol

I do lots of initial very rough paper planning (non-linear, looking for the line) then digital detailed linear outline. I can't really think inside my head without making it visible on paper.

SO DIFFICULT. Recently had to revise an article in response to reviewer comments and the cognitive load of piecing together the changes and the fiddly response letter, changing focus repeatedly to deal with the next comment, holding it all in my head, triggered a small crash.

Thanks, that is so helpful re planning. Yes. I think the doubt about doing it "right" is a big barrier - you are encouraging me already! Not much re tools. An outline in a word doc. Ideally a timer to remind me to take breaks. A calendar entry to protect writing time never really works.

The only strategies I have are 1) efficiency - trust your gut and don't do anything extra and 2) break it down into little chunks. Maybe 3) 'good enough' is good enough (die, perfectionism!) (But I am terrible about following my own advice 😱😱😱).

Omg, I have just been wondering about this! I have an established very intensive writing practice that is incompatible with energy limitations and competing tasks and have NO IDEA what to do!

Are you a disabled writer or author? How do you manage energy management, or things like cognitive processing difficulties, or even issues with the physical act or writing or typing? What tools do you use to support your process and workflow? #BookSky #Romancelandia

Deleted it. Was drowning in nastiness and dross.

Ohhh yes booking is really awkward, i wondered if it was easier now when they are so under-supplied. A better system, we can dream of it!! 😍

I love all this, so clever. If course the seeds of the future are in the present and past, if we have the guts and analysis to see them!

Ooof its exhausting. Kids prob too young for it, but you might find solidarity in Michael Rosen's poem 'Eddie in bed' (featuring baby demanding biscuits in middle of night). youtu.be/12QkGO4Dox8?...
