Hope it is just resource sharing for normal policing. If they are starting to support illegal abductions, no doubt they’ll be reminded in short order how small this big state can be, eh?

For what purpose, if you can determine that?

What a ridiculous idea. Talk about swimming against the tide of reality!

I doubt she’d flip all the way, but I hold on to a glimmer of hope that she will declare independent and caucus w Dems. Just a guess that she probably wouldn’t shift positions greatly, but at least would be much less subject to MAGA arm-twisting.

Go get ‘em, Terry! Thank you for your continued service.

Dan Sullivan loves to remind people of the colonel’s eagles he wore as a reserve JAG officer. He disgraces them.

Regrettably, as the regime is already doing throughout our federal government, they’re using an existing legit process to insert chaos agents. As the article the OP linked described, direct commission is a thing. Scant hope, but maybe some of these techies will not be able to get TS clearances.

Thanks for this, Dave. Had never heard of PurpleAir and a I’m pleasantly surprised how many folks have bought and deployed sensors in AK!

Yes, glorious day at the Bauer home in Mat-Su despite the very definite smoke haze, though not (yet) enough to be in the local aviation METAR reports. I won’t mind some rain if it helps us avoid a repeat of summer 2019!

Legally, I wonder if this could fall somewhere within the bounds of the crime of abuse of a corpse?

As one who for years worked on NASA’s commercial crew vehicle human rating program and spent untold hours across the table from Musk’s Minions, yes, I think we should move on from SpaceX. They were relentlessly trying to cut corners on safety to win contracts. IMO, rotten to the core.

Serious question: Specifically to whom is the impeachment petition to be delivered? It was a swing and a miss twice in the first term. Third at bat must not fail. At least 20 mod Senate Rs needed for conviction. Do we have their votes yet? (No). They particularly are who need to be petitioned.

Qasim is correct; it IS out there, but not front and center in the news as I believe it should be. This is the first I heard of it despite spending at least an hour each morning reading a variety of news sources. www.military.com/daily-news/2...

Thank you, Canadian friends!

What does Randy Fine know about war? Certainly a lot less than he knows about separating gamblers from their money. What a twisted mind, and without shame. He is true to the MAGAt credos of hatred and grift.

3of3 They hate that the GOP can’t squash the LARGE independent vote w closed primaries. To keep with this weekend's theme...if I was King For A Day, Open Primaries and RCV would be the law of the land. (But let’s make it the 29th amendment after ERA is enshrined as the 28th).

2of3 Pairing RCV (top 4 in AK) w an open primary system works great. Alaska R's decided to oppose Open/RCV basically because they were pouting after they stupidly ran multiple R candidates for the '22 house seat and lost.

1of3 I had to go looking, but guessing you're referring to The Atlantic piece "New York is Not a Democracy" by Annie Lowrey? If so, yeah, that article is low in fact about RCV and high in personal opinion. Even a non-journalist like me can see it is a discredit to author and editor alike.

2/3 in Senate is not realistic. But I’m not kissing democracy goodbye over it. Winning both chambers? Hell yes. For 2/3, D+Ind would need to gain 20 seats; as of now, 22 R seats up in 2026. Eg, it would take D+Ind keeping all 47 of theirs and flipping 20 of 22 R seats for D+I to reach 2/3.

Naw, paradoxically, too far North. Living in the land of the midnight sun means no aurora viewing for about another 3 months or so.

May she prove me wrong, but it does seem she fits that “Normie R” definition. She bucks MAGA w pro-choice, pro-Medicaid stance and NO on (only) 3 nominee votes, o/w has consistently voted w MAGA. Never happen, but since she’s afraid anyway, she ought to declare as Independent and caucus w Dems.

We used to be regular Target shoppers. Haven’t been in one for months now. We quit Amazon Prime, too. It can be done!

Don’t feel bad about feeling bad. It’s good to take a breather on these tough days. Then we gather our strength and will to fight again the next day. We will be on the streets in our millions on 14 June. The resistance by We, The People grows every day and we WILL take our nation back.

Sen M does have her red lines but here’s a hard fact: She voted for both Rubio and Noem, so crocodile tears on the betrayal letter. Here’s her voting record this year: www.murkowski.senate.gov/issues/votin... The only signif votes for which she bucked MAGA were Hegseth, Patel, and Kushner.

Sen Sullivan’s retrospectoscope must be tinted tangerine. So I call BS. About 35 yrs ago Harvard warmly welcomed military scholars like most of my USAF residency for their MPH year. They all worked hard, got quality education, and had a great time. (FWIW, I chose U of Utah to ski. And study).

Sure would.

Yeah, Sullivan offers glittering generalities like vague “most vulnerable” language, but he marches with MAGA. Hard to say how the Senate will re-grind the putrid “BBB” sausage. Maybe, just maybe, it’ll create a less bad path. We need to stay loud; His seat is up for grabs in 17 months.

I’m pre-coffee at the moment but I think 21^6 x 1^6 = 21 trillion. Hmmm, that would be a crowded country. But if we were talking about $$ that would be less than our national debt.
