The first steps to the end of civilisation were when social media stopped being a collection of light word associations. Catalan technocrats to empire poets to cakes in three. The world is healing

Not sure how widespread it already is but Richards has definitely started chucking a few in. The Muñoz no goal in cup final was basically City failing to deal with that type of delivery & then the somewhat chaotic 2nd/3rd ball you get.

This year's Palace players still as Palace players.

Roland Garros & Wimbledon ✅ World Athletics ✅ India test series ✅FA cup afterglow ✅. This shit, nah. The fantasy game does look quite good tho & has more than one element that would be way more welcome in FPL than AssMan.

Thanks for the stuff you've done. Hope you find the time to carry on.

After Glasner avin it in Ibiza the only captain is EE.

Congrats & good luck. Do you treat a GW38 FH as a holiday from analytics & just pick players whose haircuts you like/play in stripes/whatever your vibe of choice 🙂?

Hope so! Yeah, he's table bonus. Was at Wembley with Palace on Saturday so maybe he'll come through in a storm of Kevin Schade goals & give me a Newcastle, Milenkovic et al week! Haaland cap at 30% v Southampton to bring you a WWE/Andy Martin hybrid!

Remember this. This is why you play. There'll pretty much always be thousands ahead of you, millions behind & you're top of your league by 30 with a bunch of players all the late WC are bringing in. Hope Wissa comes thru for you. I've got Frank!

I really just wanted Palace, Brighton as bonus if I'm honest! Quite liked the idea of 34. It's often better when you're hedging. Stops you getting tied in narratives & just pick good players with good fixtures!
comment in response to

That (& a bit of hope for Frank over anyone in 31) was enough to make me happy to take a couple of hits to avoid it. You are about a million times better at this game than me mind so, now I can't do it, sure 34’ll be best 😂

Must be on the Frankfurt job description. Glasner likes his statement knitwear

Is there pretty much always a SGW fixture with a c. 10 projection? Seems to be in these, certainly. Realising that an AM path predicated on getting 32 troublesome on the hits front & it's not *that* good for either. Maybe if Palace look good v Brighton Glasner's ceiling makes it worthwhile.

Actually just looked & Evanilson has done better away too. This is why I'm killing it for bench points!
comment in response to

Indeed. Think, with money not too much of an issue, I'm definitely getting him, if in the expectation of being underwhelmed rather than the early season expectation of chalking up 34 points. At least I'll have 11 players & Chris Wood will be mildly irking me in a different way to usual 🙂
comment in response to

I'd probably start Evanilson over Bowen but I seem to end up with more bench than pitch points so I'd probably ignore me.

I'd lose Robinson from those. Fulham's lack of CS makes it tough to get a haul & makes him little or no better in overall returns. It maybe levels itself up a bit with Tarkowski but he's got a much better fixture. Gab prob best but not as good as you'd like. Few of those this week!

Luckily I upgraded him to the always starting talisman Cunha

There's possibly only Haaland & Gvardiol. Quite like the "Foden record v Brighton" narrative pick. Realistically it's probably similar to Savio, Marmoush, Doku type picks. Not sure there is an outstanding 3rd but several viable punts
comment in response to

Looks like one where fan & owner, & by extension manager, priorities might diverge. Think I have to risk him and the Liverpool boys & hope everyone else gets 2 pointers off the bench if they don't play 🙂
comment in response to

How likely do you think Isak is to play at the weekend? Could definitely do with saving subs rather than punting on FA Cup results but on the classic Isak, Mateta, Cunha front 3.

It's pretty precarious, especially if Palace stay in the sort of form you'd want to be picking Glasner e.g. in 29 you'd want both Bournemouth to be pushing themselves up and also Brentford to stay above Palace! Chelsea & Forest collapsing would be handy. Be nice anyway in Chelsea's case

If Palace make FA Cup semi he'd conceivably have a double double with 4 table bonus games. That eventuality would also shift focus from the league so not sure you'd be too excited by Arsenal away a few days before an FA Cup semi.

Hoping v big team & with Welbeck hype comes through for Pedro! I'll happily give Andy Martin et al 6 Verbruggen points. That & Forest 2 (MGW, Murillo) Soton 1 (whoever) before Gvardiol justifies holding off TAA for a week with a 21 pointer. Can't see what can go wrong.

All teams' strikers haven't got 20pts from their home games v Liverpool and Arsenal TBF

The Everton Leicester game might make that week ok for BB. You could set up for 19 & roll from there to have 5 FT, have Allison & Pickford as GK always seems big in BB. Prob depends a bit on how Amad etc. pan out but Pickford dgw, Amad v Palace/Rogers v Wolves & 2 defenders not the worst.
comment in response to

Whilst they're all 2 on the FDR I think Chelsea's next 5 are significantly less good for attackers than their last 5.

Palace'll be 2-0 up by 7.45! Palace, Liverpool, Newcastle, United
comment in response to

If you add in Sarr, I think him & Amad best two, maybe Rogers/Enzo next, Iwobi only behind those two cos he costs more & Semenyo worst of all worlds.

By looking at stuff like this now you're reducing the strain really. If you call your GP you may well find that the appointment you get is with some sort of "health consultant"/nurse. It'll be fine & you may well end up using your watch as a useful tool rather than something to stress you out.

Or at least something that kept the basic "you're the manager, pick your best team within these constraints" premise of fantasy football rather than a bolt on results prediction game.

West Ham seem to just let the oppo's best players score at will ATM & Wolves seem to have an, erm, interesting approach to set pieces. No idea about the result but the Cunha, Soucek score double looks good!

Ha ha. Got Isak & he brings his own world of joy. Retrospectively not sure he just didn't fancy the Palace game & absented himself! If the yellow comes v Spurs Rogers has still got a decent fixture 😂
comment in response to

Like I say, I don't like it myself but not sure framing taking high upside punts when you've got a backup like Rogers as stupid/lucky is really right either. Hope he fails miserably for you mate for my team & HM's FPL mojo 😉
comment in response to

Or he's got rid of someone who's probably on the way out of his team anyway &, because he has a good bench option, been able to go for a high risk, high reward player. Personally don't like Jackson move but it's not just straight up stupid.
comment in response to

So long as you have João Pedro or similar, Rogers or similar & some cheap defenders knocking about plus the expensive mids it shouldn't be too difficult, no? Seems like that set up means you could do it in 3 & you'd live with a -4 if needed for a move like that.

João Pedro's not someone you get for points. He's like crypto. Only bought/ owned on a screen. Sometimes you get a profit for little reason, sometimes you lose money for little reason. You're happy enough with the 8th you bought with him but it's not changing your life.

An advantage of all the cheap players who are better than Salah is that you can buy Salah just for shits & giggles
