Glad you were there! We joined from about 11 to noon, but were so glad to see such a great turnout!

Mirroring Matt. When I first saw them, I thought Matt had shot them. Great job, @itsbezio.bsky.social!

Aaron has always given solid advice.
"You should either chew some gum, or get the fuck away from me."

My point being accountability doesn't exist - neither within nor without the media company - for these short-sighted choices. I'm sure the CEOs know that their choices are bad, long-term, but they don't care as long as they get their golden parachute.

Fans of the franchises left behind will never remember the former CEO. I bet that if I told Trekkies that Les Moonves was the CEO of CBS, most Trekkies would nod believing it was true.
I'd say, "No - actually, it's Wendy McMahon," and they'd say, "oh yeah - that's right..."

This 1000%. It's a further symptom of public companies focusing on quarterly profits rather than investing in their audience. Maybe in a half-dozen years when the studios have sacrificed good-will, and the c-suite gets pushed out, they'll exit as billionaires and we'll start the cycle over again.

The economy of TV has changed. Ratings don't matter. A show's success depends on how well it brings NEW SUBSCRIBERS to whatever streaming platform it's hosted on.
If Paramount+ already has all the Trek subscribers it's ever going to get, it loses motivation to make more Trek.

I'm all for creating a unique trademark style-language for characters in fiction, but we need to have a frank discussion about Pike's peak that isn't going to be pleasant.

I had dinner there during my last trip to Vegas. The Thum Ka Noon was fantastic with prawns. I'll have to try the duck next time!

Mirror Lorca also liked taking excessive risks and blowing up things in varied and exotic ways.

I was just watching The Changeling an hour ago and caught myself saying, "Oh my God, Bones! Stop antagonizing the computer that fires 90x yield photon torpedoes at people!"

I'll need to witness this for myself.

This is John Scalzi levels of trolling, but instead of burritos it's pizza.
