Where are Dem leaders?!
comment in response to

The fact that Dem leaders are not making the public aware of this is political malpractice. Instead, Schumer and Jeffries ride herd on other Dems.

Why hasn’t there been any legislation on this: every federal LEO, unless undercover, should have clear and agency info (1” high letter) and if not a name at least an easily readable individual ID number that links them back to unit. Penalties for unit commanders that do not enforce this.

Yeah, maybe if ghouls like Matt Miller weren’t enabling it. 50,000 innocent Palestinian civilians. Sorry, Matt, but it’s gonna take more than this to wash that off your hands.

As they say, someday everyone will have been against it.

And Dem leadership understands this so they are keenly choosing to…not do anything.

Alas, it’s a one-sided conversation with Schumer and Jeffries pretty much sitting it put (despite it’s obvious kitchen table-ness).

Well, as long as they ain’t laughing at us.

Like Waterfront, GMMB, and SKDK? My guess is that they don’t provide advice that doesn’t make them a ton of cash. Earned media, for example, is not nearly as attractive as big ad buys. Not exactly a fiduciary relationship.

One thing that drives be nuts about Schumer and Jeffries (and Pelosi) is that they advocate for obviously dumb and cowardly strategy (eg kitchen table only blah blah) and then…*they don’t even do it!!!* They aren’t even making any useful noise about the reconciliation bill.

Could we at least start naming the idiotic consulting firms that have so captured these guys?

Somehow, Jeffries and
Schumer have convinced themselves that influencing public opinion has no value in this democracy — or at least not to their own benefit.
comment in response to

Ok. But it’s still *good* trouble.

Democratic leaders could and should be doing this right now.
Blame the whole Republican elite for this. Tie Carol’s story to Trump and Miller and the lies being told by the R elite. Do this with ads NOW, and w/ Dem Sens and House members saying it.
That D elites aren’t doing this is malpractice.

It is VITAL to recognize who’s at fault for the lack of attack: it’s Schumer and Jeffries.
Over the past 20 years, the Senate and House leadership have consolidated control over the two caucuses, pulling budget and decision-making into the leadership offices. @schatz.bsky.social is running scared

Please convince Schumer (and Jeffries) that their plan to remain hands off and explain this all to voters 2 days before the bill is on floor is awfully stupid.

He spoke truth to power, but without the power part. Complete waste of time for all concerned, but safe and lucrative for him. His tv show, covering decades old scandals, is same deal. That’s the beef.

I’d imagine those laws would still apply if the contractors and employees are still *sleeping* in federal buildings.

Can’t imagine he’s leaving the govt databases behind….

Schumer and Jeffries are letting all this water flow under the bridge, to influence no one on future votes. Keeping their powder dry? Training for their heroic entry into the battle? Doing burpees?!

Tapper’s fearless reporting is gonna save democracy by taking down the king pin: Rob Blagojevich!!.
comment in response to

Tapper is speaking truth to power without the power part. He also specializes in scandals…from 30 years ago. Bold.
comment in response to

Jake Tapper really demonstrated the importance of speaking truth to power. That is, peaking truth to an 82yo former president who is not and will never again be in office for anything ain’t speaking to power at all. The ‘Original Sin’ is irrelevancy.
comment in response to

From Tapper’s perspective, the Biden scandal was 10x better than Watergate because it required no real investigative journalism. He’s Jerry Springer, 2025 edition.

Seems like a job for email. Create a group of people you want in the loop. Send them an email after an event. Have email program send a different email if you have not accessed the program in a certain amount of time.

The bit that really got me is when Kissinger assures Nixon that it’s ok if South Viet Nam collapses, so long as it’s two years (?) after the piece deal he wont get blamed.

Baby steps. Now make sure that every American knows why, specifically, and pin the awful crap in the bill to the chest of every GOP politician.

If you accept the idea of only fighting in 4 out of 48 months, you have no other option than to just support things that are already popular. But, if you choose to fight for all 48 months, you can dictate what is popular.

Yes, everyone remains silent including the supposed leaders of the Dem party who otherwise could and should create a stir worth MSM coverage.

We're trying to tell the stories that will keep America angry and hopeful enough to stand up when it matters.
We aim to do it by giving the right people shit, and intentionally spreading fearlessness.
Hope you'll join in and support in any way you can.

I have come to the conclusion that the first thing Dems need to do if replace their inept leadership. All else depends on this.
