I actually stopped caring about HP long before any of this, but that's besides the point.

As a general rule I try not to let my politics dictate my tastes, but there's a certain point at which it's just straight up unethical to give someone money and exposure.

Not exactly the same path, but I was a Playstation kid who got into PC gaming (through Valve games), and basically ignored consoles between the PS3 and the Switch.

I loved 2016, but Eternal felt kind of... Overly complicated? Like every encounter was a puzzle with one set solution. Not a bad game by any means IMO, but one I wanted to like a lot more than I did in the end.

Wouldn't making FromSoft games exclusives essentially be saying "we want to make less money"? Can't see that going over well with investors.

I'm torn between hating the entire concept of this, and being here for Michelle Yeoh being sexy and evil.

I think that as the 50s fade from living memory, the 90s are starting to take their place as the 'golden age' that conservatives want to bring back (a fantasy version of)

The fact that he was on the ballot after this is a damning indictment of America's political and judicial systems.

Had a thought semi-related to this; Adam Savage once said "the difference between screwing around and science is writing it down". Where is the line between screwing around and *art*? Money? Intent? Recognition by the 'art world'?

How much of the backlash was driven by dedicated anti-communists? I think to the average person, after living through the Great Depression & WW2 with propaganda depicting the USSR as an ally, might see leftism as the way forward. Rightists probably thought they needed to act fast & hard.

I see it all the time with a certain thing I'm into, and it's always off-putting. I can't explain why, I simply do not vibe with it.

That was the rhetoric they hid behind, but I don't think the actual ideology has changed that much. 'Family values' always meant anti-abortion, anti-LGBT, etc, 'low taxes' always meant unregulated capitalism, and 'personal freedom' always meant gutting safety laws.

Honourable mention:
(I know this movie is kind of a mess that's missing half the plot, but the vibes are absolutely immaculate.)

I enjoyed the first one, but I don't really have any strong feelings about the sequel. I guess I'll watch it if the reviews are good, but it's in 'wait for streaming' territory at best.

Between this and WOTC's nonsense, if I ever run 'D&D' again, it's probably going to be some kind of OSR.
