It’s not a defense of any of the bad actors involved to try to unwind some poorly communicated aspects of the issue, like the fact that Brockley herself was the user who prompted the ChatGPT output she screenshotted (she admits this lower down her thread). It doesn’t mean WaPo is in the right.

I think most people on this thread are not fans of WaPo or Bezos but many are just rightly pointing out that WaPo did not publish this. The OpenAI deal sucks, WaPo sucks, the fact they’ll publish AI articles sucks, they just simply did not post the user-prompted ChatGPT output Brocklet posted.

Thanks so much for all this input y’all!
One other option I’m thinking of is looking into regs/reqs for requesting channel access and hiring my friend who sails to radio in and pass thru at a specific time :)

Makes sense, yeah I read that it was by request on the (insert name of appropriate authority that escapes me) website and was hoping that with advance notice I could run over with a go-bag in time to capture it, may not be enough lag between request and action tho

Wow so helpful! Looking up that model now :)
Do you know if it can also receive the channel used to alert movable bridges of incoming ship traffic? Was hoping to use a similar receiver to get early warning and record bridges in motion, for ex. the Jingletown bridge to Alameda

@hellocullen.bsky.social FYI can’t see any corroborating evidence for this other than a fact check refuting it from January, seems like this might be a misfire?
