I’ve known several airline pilots.

I have the plate for that Del Rey logo. It looks so good. I proofed it upside down by mistake, though.

The secret is that when conservatives are given a choice between preventing something, or punishing someone, they will always choose punishment. Because punishment is the end desired. Vindictive satisfaction.

I appreciate this. I’m trying to assess if this changes the story. The fact that we’re revealing fake moderates seems important. Persuasion and self discovery are different ways to describe very similar rhetorical events.

So does that mean the split is long standing? IE, men were always more conservative and just weren’t articulating it?

Imagine that instead of Disney, it could be called Eye Works. We’re in the wrong timeline!

I teach at a division one school. You need to bring all the kids who ALMOST make it. Or JUST the kids with debilitating injuries that end their career sophomore year.

"—that ours is a “civilization” of which the work of no builder or artist is symbol, nor the life of any good man, but rather the bulldozer, the poison spray, the hugging fire of napalm, the cloud of Hiroshima."

So wrote Wendell Berry in AN ENTRANCE TO THE WOODS back in 1971. He went on to write: "One cannot come here without the awareness that this is an island surrounded by the machinery and the workings of an insane greed, hungering for the world’s end--"

"The machine is running now with a speed that produces blindness—as to the driver of a speeding automobile the only thing stable, the only thing not a mere blur [...], is the automobile itself—and the blindness of a thing with power promises the destruction of what cannot be seen."

The cornerstone of capitalism is the corporation, and the essential quality of the corporation is that it deflects culpability off of individuals onto the institution. A corporation is merely a legal structure for disposing of legal and moral culpability. AI is merely an acceleration of this system.

The AI doesn't have to escape the lab and madly turn everyone into paperclips. When capitalism hits a labor dislocation, it just lets millions of Irish farmers die, it plows under every fourth American boy, it lets Detroit hollow itself out, it slips back into slavery and genocide.

Doing a retreat while rocking a box of pencils that just says Mephisto is my dream for you, Manu.

Also, if you want to get into hardcore pencils, let me recommend the vintage Mephisto hectographic copy pencil. These have aniline dye, making them good for making tattoo transfers from your writings and drawings.

Micron is the correct answer. Buy a couple sizes, find the size you like, buy a box. But also, let me be contrary and recommend this pencil: Uni Kuru Toga Roulette Model Auto Lead Rotation 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil, Silver Body. I also like vintage lead holders.
