🤣 I’m very happy to see you’ve been so positively impacted by dbatools and PowerShell 💕

If you're interested in an example I have >25 years of professional software development experience - I wrote about how I use LLMs to write code in detail here simonwillison.net/2025/Mar/11/...

I got hooked on it after building justingarrison.com/cubernetes

Got one ten years ago for $600 on Amazon. It’s still so solid 👌 But also, rich people have access to insane brands we’ve never seen. I often wonder if they’ve got undercover ergo office equipment we can’t fathom.

I was there back in the 90’s when people were saying similar things about the internet. My gym coach, Ms. Rabon, even told me the internet would make me gay. Granted, I did come out shortly after 🤔

When it comes to filling out SharePoint metadata, it’s also heaven sent. This issue has plagued SharePoint pros for nearly two decades.

Last I checked, no. You have to import an external library — oldest request was nearly a decade ago. Here’s one that as a list of them.

As an automator, this does not ring true for me at all. It’s just another tool that helps me solve problems. Like in this case, where I needed to know if Pacific Palisades and Los Angles are related. There’s no way to do that with regex.

I loved Haarlem! What a gorgeous city.

If you have a car, the drive to Chimay thru Beaumont is very pretty. Belgian and French backroads are my favorite.

Belgium is still one of my favorite countries and feels very much like home. But I’d spend more time in Antwerp, Mechelen, Ghent or Mons. Even Tournai tho it’s far. Brugge is very pretty but crowded.

My wife lived in Portland for 3 years and said it’s the vibe here that neither of us have felt before. Grand Place in Brussels is something to behold. Just skip Midi Station, use Centraal and see it. Then hop back on and go check out the other cities in Belgium.

The city does not clean up anything. Not hateful graffiti, not crime. We read it was bad on Reddit before moving here but thought we could insulate ourselves. Not so much.

Open-air drug deals, persistent graffiti, swastikas, public urination, daily shootings and their associated headlines, fireworks grenades outside of holidays which gave me temporary hearing loss, trash in the street and the indefinable vibe.

Thank you! I’ve felt safe everywhere in the Netherlands so far.

Same! I loved my friend’s place back in 2017 when we’d go visit all the time. The interior home style in Holland is so pretty.

Thank you 😊 We love what we’ve seen so far. Feels safe, people are polite, food reminds me of California. Healthy and vegan options readily available. But boy, it’s been unusually tough to find an apt to rent. I heard we have to walk into the realtors office like the old days.

My favorite town this time around was Mechelen. Such a beautiful city with great beer and nice people — but too far for my daily commute.

The food in Brussels was great tho. Can highly recommend Volta Supper Club and The Colonel, both in Ixelles.

I will not miss Brussels. Anywhere in Belgium but here, man. Lu and I have both lived in big cities - DC, Portland, LA, San Francisco near the Tenderloin. Brussels felt the least safe of all. I hope something changes soon — we wanted to love it.

I've always outsourced regex to friends, going back to the Perl days. Now I just do it to an LLM. My brain just doesn't work the way that regex needs it to ☠️

As someone who also loves emdashes and uses Google often to copy/paste the character, I've seen it increasingly used in AI, especially in Sonnet. I ended up having to put in the instructions "no emdashes".
