I was torn too between those two... and Kapanen maybe. I only have the slightest hopes Mailloux pans out. Great shot, good physicality, but god his hockey IQ is low.

I agree, but maybe they'll want to do like TB with Stamkos and think long term. Like we just said, money invested on him will NOT age well.

I think he could be a good fit for teams in win-now mode looking for playoffs grit like TO... or Car. Otherwise, since he'll probably crash in like 2-3 years and not be worth more than 4M, he'd be an horrible fit. I hope Kent steers away from that option.

That and all of their shots are wide out or on defenders while Clague/Kulich know how to shoot.

Matthews :

Let's face it, he's been given a few games with the Habs these past seasons and it was nothing special and probably won't improve at 27 y.o. He's a good leader in Laval and I sure hope we keep our captain. Florian though...

He's an ideal fit if he's free (or cheap) to teach the kids while we wait for Hage. Otherwise, we'd be idiots to spend anything significant for a 38 y.o. guy when out cup window won't be opened for another 2-3 years, even if he's a legend.

Yeah, along with Darche and Kekkalainen. I really hope they go for Darche or Kekkalainen who would be clever enough to rebuild rather than reset.

Sadly, powerforwards like him age poorly and he's going to want a long term deal. Something like 7x9M. He'd be awesome for 2-3 years, then probably crash and burn and be an atrocious contract for the 4-5 remaining years.

Imagine how done they are if they let Marner go. Matthews isn't the guy leading a team to a Stanley Cup. He's a Kessel, not a Crosby.

When you've been raised by a dumb goon, it's hard to be a astrophysicist.

Gallagher and Mailloux for Dobson.

I hope he's packaged in a big trade this summer before other teams realize his below-average hockey IQ cannot be improved.

As a scientist, I'm livid at how bad science had it in the last decade. Hordes of idiots choosing to believe nonsense on Youtube instead of educated experts are driving our societies into idiocracy.

Gally is not a power forward per se, but he played like one. Other names like Clowe and Clarkson also come to mind even though they were less productive at their peak.
