I've thought about this and I'm largely in agreement. I also think that "Brexit had made controlling our borders harder" is another line we could take. That is, let's take the fight to Farage and force him to own the shitshow from the last time people listened to him.

I'm no expert but I think the narrative that we cannot deport sex offenders is powerful, even if not wholly accurate. We saw how arguments about sovereignty mobilised a vote against our interests before. Reform is preferable to withdrawal, no?
comment in response to post
I'm not, but thanks for engaging with me politely. I'm terrified of what a reform government would be like and the message that we have to leave the ECHR is gaining momentum and I think returning it would be preferable to leaving it.

He didn't quote Powell but I hated the echos of it. Piss off back to Twitter if you want to insult people who politely disagree with you.

Yes (although Starmer is not far right) but if they are able to argue that it is preventing deporting sex offenders then it will be used as a campaigning tool. And I worry that will be successful.

Surely it is better to reform it then have it being used as a campaigning tool for the far right.

You could have said that Zarks statement is almost as easily disproved by finding one lie but no you doubled down. Shocker, as they say.

I said it is easily disproved. All you need to do is find one thing she has said, ever, that is true.
comment in response to post
Well, that statement is easily disproved.

BBC senior management are not prepared to justify their position instead hiding behind a written statement. Cowards!

Yes but it takes a lot of resources to train officers so I can see why they may not want to rush to dismissal.

It's ridiculous. The one place close to me that has a dialect is the Forest of Dean which isn't on there.

They've dropped that word from the headline now.

My question is about whether the ruling covers all federal workers that have been fired. If so that is quite a thing, no?

What, all of them?

I'm all for it. I strongly believe that Brexit would not have happened if we had ID cards.

Congratulations. By far my favorite podcast and good to see so many others enjoying it.

One of my favourite views are those from Symonds Yat Rock. Although recent visits have been shadowed by sadness at the deteriorating health of the River Wye.
