"they could have had a wealth tax, they could have put up corporation tax.. but they attacked pensioners, they have attacked disabled people.. if your solution is to attack the most vulnerable, rather than those who can afford to pay, it tells you the direction of travel" Mark Serwotka on #bbcqt

Really shocked that an admin filled with podcasters, social media influencers, reality TV participants, indicted felons, crypto bros, drunks, Fox hosts, drug addicts, weirdos, and unqualified ass kissing toadies can’t keep their shit together for 24 consecutive hours.

a rewriting of The Unna Rules, in the manner of Chuang Tzu, from The Walkative Revolution. I have copies of this and Not Sealions But Lions by the Sea, available for £25. The Unna Rules were an attempt to codify a new relationship between humans and wild land, written by the mountaineer Percy Unna.

US politics is a DOGE eat DOGE world.

No one talks about extreme centrists. They should, because they're the people who want to maintain the status quo when it's glaringly obvious that we need change. youtu.be/Dx6HxfAQYEA?...

The need for Brexit UK to build rivals - satellites, science funding, chemicals register, student exchanges, even to the Union itself - to Europe is the most pathetic part of that movement. Good it's coming apart. 1 inews.co.uk/news/politic...

Who could have ever predicted that these two galactic sized egos would end up tearing into each other, you know, aside from anyone with a braincell? www.bbc.com/news/article...

A view from the south-east of Stac Pollaidh or "Stack Polly", north of Ullapool in Wester Ross. At 2,008ft or 612m in height, this is a mountain that easily makes up in character and charm for what it lacks in stature. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot... #Scotland #StacPollaidh #WesterRoss

#GMB tells us the base salaries of bosses running the profiteering private water companies. The Labour govt won't renationalise water because its on the side of the private companies that are ripping us off.

I know it's been said before, but few things have illustrated the bankruptcy of marketing education as accreditation than the impact of LLMs. The gym analogy which a lot of us have used shows this in two ways.. /1

BBC Radio 5 live currently has someone saying that Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing happened in the past and they could happen again. Are they blind? It is happening right now.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why Donald Trump is trying to destroy higher education

A week after David Lammy announced the suspension of free trade agreement negotiations with Israel, Keir Starmer's trade envoy to Israel, Ian Austin, tweets about being in Israel to "promote trade with the UK".

😆 🤣 😂 😹

Would a civilized country limit health care and food assistance for the poor...

“We’re at a new point in human history. The major drivers of biodiversity loss around the planet were land degradation and land loss, habitat loss. But climate change is now far exceeding that.” – Professor of ecology & evolutionary biology at UConn and entomologist David Wagner. #Insectageddon

The best response to Abundance talk is a single tweet from Ruairi Wood, RIP brother.

‘I don’t carry that figure round in my head.’ I hear ya, I also struggle with large numbers … then again I’m not in charge of any

"This book overflows with information... which will be useful to anyone campaigning to defend the countryside" A lovely review of THE LIE OF THE LAND by the former director of CPRE, Chris Hall, in 'Open Space', the magazine of the Open Spaces Society:

Every bullet Keir Starmer's new factories make, every missile, every component produced aims to steal life, create misery, bereave someone elsewhere in the world so that obscenely wealthy British oligarchs can lavish yet more luxury on their already sordid existence.🤮 www.reuters.com/business/aer...

So Keir Starmer has the right to ignore 54% of Scots by winning an election. But no election result in Scotparl will ever produce a mandate for Indy or #indyref. Obvs he doesn’t care what we think. But vip for Yessers to restate our committment. www.thenational.scot/news/2521260...

"If Labour offers no political direction, and the SNP slogans without delivery - then the space for something darker will grow. An the tools to resist it will weaken." | Assa Samaké-Roman in 'The National': #ScottishPolitics

We are not powerless to change our current trajectory towards a lifeless Earth. Every one of us has something called AGENCY. And united, anything is possible, including making things far better even than they are now. There's nothing 'predestined' about the death of nature. We can fix this.

Is anyone else out there wondering on a daily basis when the Labour Party membership are going to oust Keir Starmer and elect a leader with actual progressive policies? To me it feels like the only credible way to prevent a huge shift to the far-right at the next General Election.

"In many ways, this was a bravura performance from Yvette. One designed to waste as much time as possible while saying little of interest. In among all the white noise she did commit news once, when she let slip that more children had been referred to Prevent, but that was a rare misstep."
