It was sort of a “oh, you can’t just push them around, they’ll mess you up” thing. I’m glad I learned that early instead of more painfully later on, as you said. Though it sucked so bad at the time 😭

Growing up if I pissed my sister off the reward was usually a swift kick to the nuts. If my mom ever caught it she’d just ask me “was it worth it?” and give me a knowing look. I hated it at the time but it did actually help drill into me a healthy respect for women’s boundaries.

Speaking as a guy it’s true. When you get hit in the nuts it has some psychological effect where you become averse to ever doing the thing that got you hit again. It’s negative reinforcement.
