Because unfortunately the US has placed these military bases in strategic areas to hopefully be our first line defense against countries like Russia, north Korea, China, etc. Plus it is kinda payback to those countries we have bases in as their protectors.

Actually this makes sense, because everything i have read and seen in TV looks like it's a set up to make it look like we attacked nuclear sites, but they removed the plutonium days before (planned) and then the attack on US military base in Qatar with prior warning (planned) and now a cease fire...
