Senator this old USN Officer vet stands with you. There is nothing patriotic, Christian, ethical or honorable about the administration or its leader. The so called "party of family values" is a very sick joke. Stay safe sir!

Another utterly incompetent and sociopathic member of Trump's inner circle. He should never be allowed to work in government again.

Ladies this old USN Officer vet (not an attorney) enjoyed your chat very much. I gained a little insight into the workings of the federal judiciary from you gals. I have three daughters and two sons all in or nearing middle age years. I'm not a conservative old cuss and support all of women's issues

I'm a Cold War vet. As a young USN Supply Corps Officer I was acquainted with a few junior officers like Hegseth. I made it a point to avoid being guilty of the character flaws exhibited by them. There is no good reason to have Hegseth anywhere near the Dept. of Defense, much less in the SECDEF job

Admiral it is obvious that the White House is occupied by an ignorant old fool who is surrounded by and influenced by other ignorant fools. We are going to have a bumpy ride for the next three and a half years. A return to sanity in government would be greatly desirable. May God have mercy on us!

As a Navy Supply Corps Officer veteran, I had several Supply Corps friends when I was on active duty who were in billets in the Navy Exchange and Commissary systems. These operations are run by US Navy Supply Corps Officers. I believe that privatizing these functions would be a horrible idea.

Enjoyed your chat with Acosta. As a USN Officer vet who was in uniform at the end of the Cold War I have never been impressed with Donald Trump (draft dodger and now convicted felon). It is a sad myth that he is a business genius. Now he is doing his best to harm most Americans and their futures.

Admiral this the largest TAX hike of our lifetimes and there is no upside to the trajectory that we are on concerning trade and our relationships with our allies and friends. I sincerely hope that the MAGA fanatics who voted for this reap the full "benefits" of their actions.

This old USN Officer vet ('78-'89) enjoyed listening to you guys this evening. It is looking like we are staring down the barrel of the biggest TAX hike (Trump's tariffs) of my lifetime (born in 1953) tomorrow (if he goes through with it). Glad to see you are hanging in there. I want to say thanks,

Having been acquainted with several Royal Navy Officers years ago while I was a USN Officer, I can well believe you got such a witty effort from a British Admiral. A little light humor is much appreciated amidst today's media circus! Thank you for sharing this Admiral!

This just goes to prove that "National Security" does not mean much to the clown show in the Trump White House. During the Cold War years when I had a security clearance as a serving USN Officer we knew that security breaches could mean a long visit to Fort Leavenworth and a dishonorable discharge.
comment in response to post
As one who held a security clearance while I was a serving USN Officer, I was always aware that a leak of this type would be grounds for a lengthy vacation in a federal resort otherwise known as Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. To be followed by a dishonorable discharge. This is inexcusable incompetence!

JD Vance is undoubtedly the biggest "idiot" to occupy the office of Vice President in my lifetime (70+ years).
comment in response to post
Does she do anything except run around doing photo shoots? She doesn't appear to be actively running one of the government's largest departments. Talk about fraud, waste and abuse!
comment in response to post
Having held a security clearance as a serving USN Officer I am absolutely amazed at the decision to grant Elon Musk, who has no legitimate need to know, access to highly classified war plans. Donald Trump is unfit to be President and should be impeached. This country needs better leadership!
comment in response to post
Does she never do the job she was appointed to? Getting in the way of her troops in the field is not accomplishing anything worthwhile. These photo ops are not even good advertising. She is being grossly overpaid.

I understand that some of the commenters wrongly assume that Miller is an attorney, he is NOT an attorney. He is a professional political hack who has little knowledge outside his narrow hard right ecosystem. He graduated from Duke with a bachelor's degree. He is a blot upon our political landscape,

Does she never spend time running her enormous government agency? Life to seems to be one continuous photo op for her. A great playground is her life.....

This old USN Officer vet hates all of this and sincerely hopes we come out of this successfully. Guess a quiet retirement was out of the question?

Wil the sad thing is that right now as long as the Republicans in both Houses of Congress are lock step behind our fearless (feckless?) leader, the Democrats can't stop this in the Congress until a change in the makeup of the Congress (i.e. next elections in 2026). The courts might but takes forever

It's not just Trump. Look at the fools he has surrounded himself with. As for DJT, once a con man always a con man (and now also a convicted felon). May God have mercy on our souls!

Looks like an outtake from "The Exorcist". Is there some Holy Water in the house? May God have mercy on our country.

I just saw where Trump told the Secretary that he should recruit air traffic controllers who are MIT grads. What planet does the POTUS live on? He has convinced all intelligent life forms that a) they don't EVER want to work for DJT and b) they don't EVER want to work for the US government!

Thanks for a positive note in the otherwise bleak news of today. This old USN Officer vet would like to visit USS Texas. Have been aboard USS Alabama, USS Massachusetts, USS Wisconsin and would like to visit all of the others that are still with us. Got piped aboard USS Constitution as young Ensign.

He is apparently another ignorant Republican who has little knowledge outside of his prior world (which was football coaching). He apparently does not realize he comes across as being an utterly inept fool.
comment in response to post
This is really the height of corruption. As a USN Supply Corps Officer veteran I am deeply disturbed by this. To answer someone else's question, to qualify for a pension he would have to accumulate a total of 20 years of total service credit and as a reservist pension would start at age 62.

Think back to 1941 and the beginning of the mass movement of Japanese-Americans into what amounted to our version of concentration camps (and no I'm not quite old enough to have seen that). Trump is likely planning to concentrate illegal migrants in similar camps and to deport them w/o dye process.

He has always been, above all else, a carnival barker and would have been a "snake oil" salesman in the era he admires so greatly!
comment in response to post
He makes it all up as he goes and has little if any idea what any of it means.
comment in response to post
That is precisely what is going to happen although he wants his loyal worshipers to believe that the producing countries will pay them. The biggest moron to ever disgrace that podium!
comment in response to post
Just heard him say his tariffs are going to bring trillions and trillions of dollars into the US Treasury. Too bad being delusional in front of millions of citizens who would be paying those tariffs is not grounds for having him institutionalized. I am beyond further words.
comment in response to post
You forgot firing most of the military's top officers (especially women and black 4star officers) and also especially the top military Judge Advocate General officers so they can be replaced with Trump loyalists. Guess what that might do for the country?
comment in response to post
And exactly what is she doing to earn the grossly excessive salary she is being paid by us taxpaying veterans? The administration is not doing anything for veterans that is meaningful. This old USN Officer vet is unimpressed by her empty posturing in the media.

I see where the lunatic MAGA Republicans in Congress have introduced legislation to put Trump's picture on the $100 bill, create a $250 bill featuring his image, enshrine him on Mt. Rushmore, and nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Is there no end to the worship of Donald Trump? The world laughs
comment in response to post
Already have my copy. Well done Admiral.

This old USN Officer vet voted against Trump, Vance and all of the down ballot Republicans on the ballot. Unfortunately too many other people bought the Republican misinformation and outright lies. I apologize to our friends and allies for what is about to happen as it is nothing I can support.
comment in response to post
No matter what Trump says he is not on the side of American workers. He has ambitions of getting the Nobel Peace Prize by any means necessary. Unfortunately for DJT he is not and never has been the world's greatest negotiator. He is, however, outstanding at swindling people. Impeach Trump!
comment in response to post
Sorry wasn't talking about bad actors although you have a point. Just pointing out Musk's crew not being able to spot any real "fraud" or even to recognize what they are looking at. The numbers the Republicans are salivating over are NOT even close to being accurate/
comment in response to post
DOGE employees are not professional auditors and it is absolutely hilarious that they cannot recognize bad data as bad data. That is an antiquated system and has been riddled with bad entries for years.Show us real hard evidence of payment errors(i.e. fraud proof). DOGE is overpaid. Where's the BEEF?
comment in response to post
As a USN Officer during the Cold War ('78-'89) I was in uniform at the time Vladimir Putin was a KGB Colonel. Many of the people who just put Donald Trump back in the White House were too young to see DJT dodging service and doing business in the USSR. He and Vance are unfit for office! Disgusting!
comment in response to post
That's very astute Ron. I think you have something there. Elon and Trump are not doing "intelligent" reductions. It is all about "burn it down as quickly as possible". It is intended to do maximum harm to as many people as possible. Improve efficiency? In whose reality?
comment in response to post
I was a USN Supply Corps Officer(one of the Navy's business managers)in the 1980's. I wasn't impressed with the young Donald Trump's business skills then or now. I wouldn"t vote for him for ANY position in the government. He is an ignorant, lazy imbecile with ZERO leadership ability. A real con man.

I took that oath upon being commissioned as a USN Ensign on October 26, 1978. I have never abrogated that oath.
