Gotta say, I think Mateta is hurt by you all not wanting to not just give him three points almost every game. Can’t say as I blame you, of course.

I feel like it’s still 0-0 with Richards playing. And Hughes would clean up a lot of this sloppy passing.

Feels like their pre-match preparation was to watch “Slapshot”

Even though it’s undeserved, didn’t take ol’ Hughesy long. Nice of him to not keep everyone in suspense for several games!

I’m glad Jake got the 2nd star in the game, though you’re quite right that Pro was the best skater on the night. I just have a real soft spot for everyone from the Cup team.

With a game like that, not having Ovi on the PP really nerfs the Caps. Just his presence alone creates space for everyone else.

I love Huntley Meadows! It was the place I first saw a Great Blue Heron in person. No longer living in the DCA means I haven’t been there in about 15 years, but I hope it’s as lovely as ever.

Maybe, but who cares? In soccer, players routinely put a nickname, a mononym, or their first name on their jersey. If that’s what the player wants on their jersey, how is that an issue for anyone else? I guess the character count could be a problem if your dad is Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

As a Chelsea fan, I’m hoping they keep sucking but make the top-24 so they keep having extra fixtures and are less likely to come back. That said, I laughed out loud at the second goal! Just a delightful bit of flash from two USMNTers and pathetic defending to give them space.

And Nüsken didn’t do a cele either when she scored after coming on with Ramirez on the bench. She just looked at Ramirez and did the “Call me” 💙💙

🤞Hopefully it’s just me fretting! I’m probably biased because at age 5 I blocked a ball in the midfield with my face and woke up on the sideline with ice on my forehead. I went back in the game, too, but that was in 1985!

Any comment on blocking that shot with the side of his head? In the moment I thought he’d been knocked out.

Is anyone enjoying MUFC losses more right now than Erik Ten Hag?

Hughes for sure, but this guy right after:

Nketiah had one really promising looking run on the counter, but Devenny didn’t appear to see him. Apart from that, the only significant thing he did was deliver the most striker of striker-challenges.

Can Nketiah be fixed? Is he broken?

Finally woke the crowd up! Selhurst had been so quiet since the city goal.

Eze is looking better with each game, but he still doesn’t appear to be 100%. That magical last touch isn’t there.

With that out of the way, I really love that Emma has recognized the contribution Hal Hershfelt can provide, even if it’s only been a tiny bit so far. She has so much strength and grit! Just a brilliant player to watch and I hope she’ll be featured more for USWMT.

Love to see Ovi traveling with the team even while he’s out of the lineup.

Going up against the hot garbage edition of City, can we give Mateta some rest, start Nketiah? JP feels like the only reliable goal threat on the team and they need to prioritize keeping him healthy for the important matches.

Surprised to see this - not surprised that the Sabres are bad, but surprised because I forgot they exist.

And I’d feel a lot better about that Spurs game if he was going to play, but it looks like he won’t.

Nah, that’s like yesterday. Here’s a throwback:

It feels like most of this “2nd 11” are approaching these games as an opportunity to show off, pad their stats, and they aren’t showing much respect for their opponents. Maybe a loss in the league phase will put a valuable scare in them?

I feel like everyone felt that they had to win to so Lindgren didn’t feel bad about the brainfart OG. They’re all each other’s bestest friend!

Surely it’s balanced by Maeda’s absolutely gorgeous finish?
