Though it's been a long time since I was involved with this type of thing, I can empathize. Sometimes you get people very excited to help make everything easier... and then you get what I like to call the "good deed terrorists" whose entire function seems to be to frustrate you.

I used to do volunteer work with a former ICE Agent, and his biggest fear was that the people he arrested would find out who he was. He was so afraid of this, he retired early.

Is that what we now call "Never been wrong"?

Mandani has surged of late, but polling could be off due to the higher number of text-based responses vs landline. This could be decided by a few votes.

Important for both sides to remember that even in the bluest or reddest state, nearly half of the people in that state don't agree with the election winners.

Violent resistance will come at a massive cost and take many years. The notion we have NO OTHER OPTION is insane. And some of you will probably find the secret service at your doorstep for suggesting it... which is very dumb.

I'm just going to start blocking these disingenuous takes on what I'm saying because you're just trolling me for NO REASON.

No clue why you are framing my argument. I am pointing out that there are steps to resistance. It isn't "Fight them" and then win. It's fight them, lose big, keep fighting them, keep losing, keep fighting them. We're going to hurt for a long time no matter what we do. But we have to resist anyway.

If POTUS can take control of the NG (he'd ignore the courts) & the police are mostly proud right-wingers who can't wait to kneel before King Trump, then there is little resistance other than The People. But The People are full of kneelers who would also take up arms against us.

I hope it goes after this Rogue One/Andor series no one likes and everyone says sucks because it's "too good for Star Wars"!

A problem is going to emerge soon, one these companies are likely anticipating. The "death of artists" when a company like Disney can just plug all the art ever created for them into a system they've designed, and pump out endless cheap art. They may keep hiring artists, but fewer.

I imagine they are waiting for Trump to do what they expect he wants to do to facilitate the death of the Constitution. The problem with modern society is that people get over things very quickly and accept them as the new normal too easily. Within days, the most shocking is barely a news item.

What's fascinating is that you and others seem to think that California can just graduate THOUSANDS of troops in 8 weeks, when California has never graduated even 1,000 in a year.

Yeah, where is the facility to train thousands of troops in 10 weeks?

We were tracing back people's posted art LONG before you could do a reverse image search. Hell, there were whole social media wars over not giving someone credit when it was actually difficult to know who made something. Now? Simple reverse image search and poof, info.

Not embarrassing in the least to me. Is it for you? Then I'm sorry you're needlessly embarrassed.

If you don't think it takes years to train thousands of people to become a member of a military unit... then you're not a serious person.

A friend once complained that I hadn't checked in on them after a terrorist attack in their region. I explained I didn't need to since it happened FOUR HUNDRED MILES AWAY.

It's costly. And the NG gets that sweet fed money and weaponry. Plus, POTUS is not supposed to just take control whenever he wants. There should be legal remedies to stop it, but the GOP has spent a significant time padding their power with judges who will help them.

You are deploying the same method the alt-right used on 4chan, then 8chan, and so on, "humor" to spread disinformation that can't be fact-checked, because then you'll mock the person who does it. Sinister. Disingenuous. And all brilliant for you. You get to "win" every time. Congrats.

The California State Guard has around 1,000 people, whereas the California National Guard has around 25,000. Not much of a force equalizer, but if Newsom could convince 25,000 people to join it, it would take years to train them. CHP IS supposedly loyal to the governor, though & is sizable.

ANY NG would fall under the same presidential powers. Also, it would take YEARS to train this new NG, even if it could be "loyal" to the governor and refuse any actions by POTUS. This should be obvious.

Yeah, it is pointless to demand canon be foolproof in life, so why should it be in fiction? Also, different historians would have different takes on available facts, which would naturally change their interpretations of history.

A major flaw in the right-wing mindset is that every manufactured outrage campaign is the poster child for "the platonic perfection of the unrealized idea."

It's also just the usual types moving the bar on their next target to hate. "Gilroy would be a better choice!" until he became the choice and then they'd be like, "Oh, the guy who put SA into Star Wars???? THAT GUY?!"
They love to hate Star Wars & anyone who is in charge. It's not complicated.
