It also depends on the task. You can exceed the human brain’s speed at any simple math problem with very little compute power. Complex reasoning, intuition who knows? It might be less than we think (or vastly more). We still beat generative AI in energy efficiency.

I’m less worried about LLMs being similar to us than I am with how similar we are to them.

Probably, but you start to get into the realms of needing to define what it means to care, why and how we care and if a complex enough system can care or imitate caring. If you prompt a model to care or ask it to favor responses with multiple lines of strong evidence is it still a bullshitter?

It’s pretty close to how humans do it too. Almost all the facts I know weren’t derived from my own experience or my own experimentation.

It just struck me that his death by being crushed under a pile of imperial coins was deeply ironic. Not sure if that was intentional or not?

My daughter called the racc-roons as a child the name has stuck in our family. Is family etymology a thing??

Chad once ordered The Creative Act in hardback after hearing a tech bro mention it in a podcast. He hasn’t opened it.

Whaaat!? Are you claiming our elected officials regularly engage in insider trading? I’m shocked and if I had my pearls on I would clasp them 🫢

Hard to guess without knowing how many meme coins they’ve purchased recently.

Indeed. Interestingly it’s now common place enough that you have to go to the financial section to get this. Roller coaster tariff rides no longer make the front pages.

Tariffs on Apple and EU, something something because reasons. I imagine there’s a concept of a plan.

By weird scientific convention the species name is always lower case (Hotwheels sisyphus). Great name for a band though!

Those are the civilian labs. There are presumably others. Notably USAMRIID in Maryland.

Let’s it out of the lab that’s funded by the CDC and NIH?? I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about there.
