‘A game-changer for children and families. We hope this is a sign of what's to come in the autumn's child poverty strategy, with government taking more action to meet its manifesto commitment to reduce child poverty in the UK.’ - Our head of education policy Kate Anstey www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

One Hundred Thousand children. The data provides vital evidence, but sometimes it's difficult to comprehend what these numbers mean in reality. Free School Meals for those on Universal Credit would lift enough children out of poverty to fill 1,150 double-decker buses. That's immense.

Right now, parents are skipping meals so that they can feed their kids. Children are growing up in homes where there's no food in the cupboards. This isn't right. And it should be a huge wake-up call for the UK government.

A little Red Panda joy. Just because. @sheprethwpark.bsky.social

I don’t want to live in a world where somebody drives a car into a crowd of people who just want to celebrate their football team. And I don’t want to live in a world where the police have to specify that person is white & British to stop hotels & mosques being firebombed.

Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy. This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

"Research from @theifs.bsky.social found recently that Sure Start children’s centres in England generated £2 of financial benefits for every £1 in costs" Less a matter of whether we can afford Sure Start, rather can we afford NOT to bring it back? www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

The kids helped their Dad make my favourite lunch. We have a tradition called #PrankSunday in our house. It's usually pretty tedious. But massively impressed with their apple 'chips', yoghurt & satsuma 'fried egg'.

My new enemy is that guy in the advert that put way too much sugar in his gochujang pasta sauce
