This is an image of British Commandos on a approaching Sword Beach on D-Day, 6th June 1944. War is a horrific thing; these men left their loved ones to enter its hellish cauldron. Some never returned. We remember their immense bravery and sacrifices so that they should never be necessary again.

You'd think that UN concluding that member of its own permanent security council committing crimes against humanity would be bigger news.

What’s the link between Shabana Mahmood MP and United Health…?🚨 EveryDoctor has been researching the financial links between our politicians and the private healthcare sector, because we are worried about the way that money is moving through Westminster, and we don’t think that any...

Too many kids are hungry in the UK today. Giving them lunch at school improves their health and learning. That’s why @munirawilson.bsky.social has been pressing for this change. Delighted to see today’s announcement. Now let’s make sure all eligible kids can get the lunch and schools can deliver.

Join us this evening in Oxford to review where we are at with the UK-EU reset. 🇪🇺🇬🇧

This is a plainly genocidal statement.

Sure Start centres saved UK government £2 for every £1 spent, study finds New Labour initiative created ‘remarkably long-lasting’ health and education improvements, says report and the Tories destroyed them www.theguardian.com/education/20...

Can never repeat this enough!

Gary Lineker apologises and resigns because of a lack of care in reposting a post on Instagram. Meanwhile, Farage is left untouched for his support for Andrew Tate, who is accused of rape and human trafficking and is perverting the minds of male teenagers.

Gary Linkeker has been consistently bold, principled and spoken the truth clearly. The fact the BBC has now placed itself in direct opposition to these values demonstrates the spiral our media is in. We urgently need reform. Solidarity, once again, to Gary. ✊🏼

Gary Lineker is a good man, a national treasure, a role model. Being forced out of MOTD because he’s horrified by war criminals murdering kids (in a war the BBC refuses to cover without fear or favour) is enraging. The BBC allows free speech, but only if you’re right wing.

The unbelievable condescension we’re already seeing today towards working class people- suggesting they don’t travel to Europe or their kids might not want to go to university and study in Europe- is quite something to behold.

Starmer's EU deal is a big break in the suffocating Brexit consensus that has held Britain back for the past decade. For the first time a British government is doing things to actually undo the damage of Brexit, rather than increase it. For that alone it should be welcomed

The U.K. fishing industry - weaponised & then betrayed & then abandoned, by Johnson, Farage & the rest of them - is better off under Starmer’s deal than it was under Johnson’s. That’s not an opinion. It’s counting. Anyone claiming otherwise is a liar.

Swifts have lost more than half their population in 20 years. A simple £35 brick in new builds could help save them. Labour are planning to backtrack on this. Sign the petition now to show them the public still backs this nature-friendly fix: act.38degrees.org.uk/act/swifts-p...

It’s time for a bolder approach to the UK’s relationship with the EU. I know many Labour colleagues agree. I hope they will work with the Lib Dems to make it happen. A deeper trade deal would bring growth, help households and improve the public finances. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Just intolerable for our country to be held hostage by Brexiters howling ‘Betrayal!’ Starmer has the chance of a more prosperous, positive relationship with the EU. If he fucks that up for Farage, then we might as well wave goodbye to progress for another decade. liveapp.inews.co.uk/category/369...

Reform is a Limited Company Farage owns 53% It was formed in 2019 to push for a “no-deal Brexit” It wants to reintroduce the Liz Truss budget It wants to privatise the NHS & invest in fossil fuels Close the BBC & break International law It’s a scam Please retweet widely

If this person sat next to you on a bus or train and started ranting about Bruce Springsteen in this way, you would get up and move to a different seat. In the United States, we have him the nuclear codes.

In case you missed it ... 💥 This is the type of speech Starmer could have given on immigration. But unlike the Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez, Starmer doesn't seem to feel any sense of duty, protection, or thanks towards the foreigners in the UK who are holding this country together. #NotStrangers

Reform councillor was sacked from the police after pretending to be sick... When he was actually on holiday in Spain. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I do not take a position on Brexit, says Andrew Bailey, but we need to reverse the whole thing. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The most constructive thing we - as a small nation - can do to offer a positive future for young ppl & help combat global insecurity is to work ever more closely with our near neighbours & close allies. Stronger together always. 🇪🇺

A sunny day for #kidicalmass in #oxford. We need #saferstreetsnow so young children can have the freedom to ride through the city everyday without fear #visionzero

Hell to the Hell Yes!!🙌 🩵

Simply this.

It’s appalling that @Keir_Starmer is being controlled by Maurice Glasman and McSweeney to disrespect the 7 million voters who weren’t old enough to vote in 2016. It was a marginal result, full of lies and Russian interference and yet we are being forced to live with the rotting corpse of Brexit.

Our new Pope … A Divine intervention in this crazy world 🙏💙 #BlueEarth #TTDS #OV1

People should check out facts before voting this

Your car company *might* have a branding problem when 98-year-old veterans are driving tanks over your cars.

Eighty years ago, enemies laid down their arms. Since then, we, Europeans, have built something extraordinary: a Union of peace, democracy, and solidarity. An anchor of stability. Our Union was born as a peace project, and it remains one today.

As a German I will forever be grateful to all who fought for the liberation of Europe. But as a historian I am looking at front pages today and must wonder: What is the point of remembering #VEDay 80 years on, what is the point of our thanks, when we are failing to protect the sacrifices made? 🧵

To honour VE Day, we should reflect on the ambition that came out of WW2: “to recreate the European family, or as much of it as we can, and to provide it with a structure under which it can dwell in peace, safety and freedom. We must build a kind of United States of Europe.” Churchill, 1946.

1. Brexit does not stand up to scrutiny 2. The more scrutiny is placed on Brexit, the worse it looks 3. Strong majority already think Brexit is going badly 4. Immigration skyrocketed since Brexit 5. Labour can't fight Reform on immigration 6. So why not force Reform to defend Brexit? Winnable!

Reform UK rails against working from home… but is hiring people to work from home leftfootforward.org/2025/05/refo...

The UK is struggling economically because of Brexit. Without Brexit, Reeves would have around £50bn more in her budget. We would have higher government spending and lower taxes. People would be feeling better off. Public services would be improving. There would be hope instead of despair. #RejoinEU

No words🤬

just the perfect story

It’s 9 years since we lost our collective mind, but finally politicians are daring to say that our future lies in closer relations with 🇪🇺. And if Reform sweeps the board on Thursday? Labour waverers are far more likely to switch to Lib Dems/Greens than Reform. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

This.

Superb to see Volodymyr Zelenskyy applauded as he appears at Pope Francis’s funeral. One great and humble man giving his respects to another.

Please repost if you agree that Farage is a fake patriot whose loyalties are to Trump, Putin, fascism, and his own greed and lust for power.
