Yes, but… JD doesn’t have the charisma. I don’t think Trump’s devotees will be quite so willing to drink his koolaid (or eat his donuts). Of course there will be diehard MAGAs, but the support will dwindle.

The GOP doesn't like him, and therein lies the rub. If the MAGAs start to fall away, and the GOP isn't so wrapped up in trying to keep Trump and MAGAs happy, I think they will start to try to reclaim some of the power/responsibility they abandoned. At least I hope. I do agree that Vance is nasty.

Agreed. I do think Vance is more cunning, but he doesn't have charisma. Stuff that MAGAs accept from Trump, they will not tolerate from JD. There will be fewer diehard MAGAs, the movement will start to dwindle, & go back underground. (Not naïve enough to think that will be the end of them though.)
