We applaud Governor Stein for rejecting permitless carry in North Carolina.
NC families and communities deserve real solutions to address gun violence—not extremist proposals that jeopardize public safety, and make it harder for law enforcement to do their jobs.

LGBTQ+ youth are being targeted — their safety, wellbeing, and livelihood are at risk. To every LGBTQ+ young person out there: We know it’s scary, and we stand with you.

We owe it to the victims and their families to do better. We’re proud to support @repjamesclyburn.bsky.social's Enhanced Backgrounds Check Act to close this fatal loophole.

This tragedy exposed a deadly gap in our gun laws, now known as “the Charleston Loophole,” which allows gun dealers to move forward with a sale if a background check takes longer than three business days. This is exactly how the Charleston shooter got a gun he never should have had.

Over the course of these two days, we will uplift the transformative work of community orgs and the strategies that break cycles of violence. Every person should be able to live, work, and play free from the threat of gun violence, and elevating CVI strategies is a key way to make that a reality.

Melissa was a true public servant who dedicated her life building a better, safer Minnesota. This is a profound loss for all who loved Melissa and Mark, and for our nation. There will be more to say, but this much is clear: we must protect our democracy from those who try to destroy it with a gun.

From Pulse to Club Q, and far too many names in between, LGBTQ+ people—especially Black and Brown trans individuals—face disproportionate risk, simply for existing as their true selves.
We see your light. We honor your courage. And we won't stop until you can live without fear. 🌈
