My gosh that's a thing of beauty. If I had John Elton pinball money I'd buy that baby so fast.

I haven't done a fall garden yet. I'm 6b. Curious: when did you plant this lettuce? and is specifically a cold or frost tolerant variety?

"I need you, therefore you must materialize when I summon you lol. But you can forget the years or decades of emotional warfare I waged against you. 😜"
I truly don't understand how parents think they can treat their kids shitty and expect unconditional fealty.

When did you start your seeds? :) I'm bad at doing fall gardens (aka I never start) but I'm good at spring and summer gardens

I've worked ER and HH. I've had many convos with family members who are planning to step up to care for an elder about what they're about to take on. Not to dissuade them, but to give them informed consent. So many folks don't understand the burden of caretaking until they're in it.

And a lot of the assumption that younger family members can and should step up to care for an elder supposes that there's a healthy relationship there in the first place. What about folks who are LC/NC with a parent or their parent was neglectful or abusive?

Our eldercare infrastructure is hot trash. The idea is just to hope you have family members younger than you who are willing to spend time, money, effort, space in their home, etc to take care of you. That's ridiculous.

There is an absurd amount of peer-reviewed research that demonstrates crappy nurse staffing leads to increased patient injuries and mortality. In other words: fucking DUH.
Just wish leaders who claim to care about evidenced based care took a look at these studies.

They want you to be thoroughly surprised lol. You're prepared for not knowing what you're doing, you're not prepared for being one of the most senior nurses on your team.

It's true. That's what we're taught in nursing school.

I had someone call me crying. They said that traffic was bad when they dropped their kid off at school so they were going to be a little late and they were so so sorry.
I just thanked them for the heads up and told them to drive safely and not rush. This is just a job at the end of the day.

Do the folks who run accounts like these not have jobs? Or hobbies? Or any love in their lives?
Kinda sad that this is how they're spending their finite time on this planet. Trying to dunk on people for imaginary internet points.

I'm in leadership at my job now and wow. I can tell my reports had GARBAGE HUMANS for bosses in previous jobs.
The bar is soooooo low to be a decent supervisor or manager. I give basic empathy and understanding and I've had folks cry to me. :/

I've had more than one pt ask me which closet is the one the nurses and doctors have sex in. I pointed to one and said "that one". This pt got wide-eyed and said, "Really??" I said, "No not really. There is no such closet. That's where we test your pee. It smells terrible." Thankfully pt laughed

Dang, people are just trying to eat their veggies like well-adjusted grownups. Why should they have to risk hospitalization or death?

YAAASSSS More of this! Nursing is a tough gig. Better working conditions for nurses often translate to better patient care and decreased mortality in hospitals.

Tried to explain this to my parents. No, billionaires don't work thousands or millions of times harder than you.
