Clearly avenging the Knicks loss.

I saw the promo stunt he did in Indy and I was like...buddy, this is a family event. Need to roid rage in a controlled setting like an MMA gym or at a men's retreat for middl aged divorced dads.

ESPN giving this chud a show was some kind of a death knell.

This thought about sports and the loss of common, low-stakes conversations kept rattling around in my head, so I wrote about it:

This is right in my backyard. This school is in the heart of SA's Westside which is about 98% Mexican American. The rot of white supremacy goes deep.

There are lots of ways to make college more accessible and affordable -- the ostensible goal of offering college credits in HS -- and we can start with "make public higher ed cost-free". We can also still offer rigorous HS courses that don't require 100s of millions going to the "College Board."

...at the end of the day, the class is all high schoolers within the confines of HS (hall passes, at school from 8:30 to 4 with a 30-minute lunch, a million extracurricular things going on) who often have a bunch of other things going on in their lives as adolescents.

My ultimate "what-if" of 20th Century America is if RFK (Sr., of course) hadn't been assassinated, he probably wins in '68 and Nixon never gets to reshape the SCOTUS (4 nominees!) The conservative shift begins materializing as soon as all his picks hit the bench with SAISD v. Rodriguez (1973).

Feel like the spirit of the game demands we accept this as "it counts" because winning on a literal last tenth of a second dunk is objectively the coolest way to end a game.

Still mad about Humphries in '68 and I wasn't even an idea yet at that point.

(To be clear, I *do* think the Thiel/Vance wing of the party *does* want to pursue that, but with the rapid proliferation of AI and other immeserating technologies. You know, something that won't spook the markets like tariffs determined by random number generator.)

I think the belief that Trump has a larger scheme to bring industry back stateside to be staffed by a further immeserated U.S.-born working class desperate to work $10 an hour in non-unionized factories is a post hoc rationalization.

I don't think you have to be a free market believer to understand that the motivation behind it is to seek win-win relationships that are ultimately incompatible with Trump's belief that if you're not screwing someone over, *you're* the one getting screwed.
