Based on my recent experience reading Kingdom Come Deliverance fic: about a third of the way through the fic, when I'm invested enough that I can no longer coast on vibes alone

I value some of the friends that I made in HP fandom, but I value nothing about the franchise and do not support it or want to be associated with it.

A Harry Potter archive that I contributed to as a teenager recently loaded their body of work to AO3 without my knowledge. I requested that the moderator give me ownership of my fic so that I can remove it. Not sure if that brief period where it becomes mine will ping subscriptions.

It absolutely is. <3333 Burnout is so hard. You deserve to feel joy and purpose again--and I truly believe that you will.

I mean. Burnout is a feeling of lack of purpose--like what you're doing is just churning without getting anywhere. And you can 100% experience burnout regardless of how much you're 'accomplishing' (which is kind of an ableist metric anyway).

But also liberating, in a way. I mostly don't have to think about other people's reactions unless they tell me about them.

Yeah, it's mostly--I don't think I could publish the cozy romances, so there's no pressure there. They're too sexy and boring for SFF, too technical and traumatic for romance, prose all wrong for romantasy.

One of the great things about writing fanfic was that everyone who might read it was already interested, so I didn't have to worry so much about MAKING them be interested

It's honestly mostly talking to Fellow Authors who have like 2k+ followers. They already get SO MANY replies, and their threshold for tolerating annoying replies is so low, that I worry that I'm going to cross that threshold by saying something that would be perfectly normal for talking to friends.
