With every passing day, Labour find new ways to prove they're no better than the Tories they replaced. This is seriously messed up stuff. Someone needs to go through the Home Office top to bottom, sit every employee down, and explain to them exactly what a HUMAN BEING is.

The government has FROZEN ALL DECISIONS for Syrians applying for asylum or settlement for nearly 6 months😱😱😱 Roughly 7,000 people left in limbo & denied the right to work - this is completely INSANE.

✍️ Lives of quiet desperation: what the government doesn’t get Voters hoped for real change, but face more cuts, broken promises, and politics-as-usual – despair deepens across the UK By Barbara Morrison @cirenvenus.bsky.social

🚨 A statement: Over the past year James O’Brien & others have made claims about my departure from LBC. I’m restricted in what I can share with you but hope the statement below will draw a line under the matter. My focus is on moving forward. I am grateful for your continued support, Sangita

Talking tough on immigration is a cynical, simplistic ruse that sidesteps the real reasons people feel estranged in their lives and keeps everyone alienated, writes Hardeep Matharu

To all my LGBTQ+ friends: I see you. I ache for you. You deserve joy, safety, and love—not fear. This world is failing you, and it’s breaking my heart. 💔

Only Labour failed to see this one coming. Our Scottish Government has been asking for a Scottish Visa to help address this shortfall. It didn't have the powers itself and Labour has refused to discuss it. Shocking mismanagement for attempted political gain by the British government.

Who is actually in power? Keir Starmer or the unelected Morgan McSweeney?

Does anyone on here live in Margate? I’m reading a play for the first time I’m working on there on Saturday 1-2pm and an audience would be rather helpful tbh. Tickets: link.dice.fm/l87523f0fad0...

"Every baby in Gaza is an enemy" "Every child in Gaza is an enemy" "We need to occupy Gaza and settle it so that not a single Gazan child remains there" - Israeli politician Moshe Feiglin

After more than a year of threats from us, the Charity Commission has finally agreed to open a formal investigation into the Institute for Economic Affairs, the so-called charity responsible for Liz Truss' calamitous mini budget. goodlaw.social/00rn

There should be resignations at the top of the EHRC because of the way they have wantonly and purposefully misinterpreted this ruling.

UK inflation rate (CPI) jumps to 3.5% in April, up from 2.6% in March. Corporate profiteering causes inflation, poverty, misery. Must control price of essentials, levy windfall taxes on profiteers, empower customers to vote on exec pay.

Inflation is up. That's down to government incompetence in permitting excessive price increases in regulated industries, and we'll all pay a price for that as the Bank of England keeps interest rates high. Incompetence on a grand scale is there for all to see. www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/05...

As the individuals & media institutions that peddled the original Brexit lies try to reignite the fires of furious ignorance, we find reasons to be hopeful that it won’t work again. Can ‘Sophiaphobia’ be overcome? tinyurl.com/4rrn2mkx

New YouGov poll: - 66% would support the UK having closer relationship with the EU - This includes half of both Leave (52%) and Reform UK (54%) voters - Majority (53%) support Britain rejoining the European Union - Six in ten believe Brexit has been more of a failure than a success

Two policy positions that are consistently popular with voters: Net Zero and a closer relationship with the EU. You'd think it was the exact opposite if you only paid attention to the right-wing press. Labour needs to deliver what the nation voted for, not try to placate maniacs and fanatics.

Legitimising far right rhetoric is just doing Farage's job for him. My take in this disastrous political strategy, as a lifelong Labour voter. We need to “take back control”… of The Labour Party. Sack McSweeney and stop this, or step down. youtu.be/k8Z5CYvuptA?...

Tonight at the magnificent @mostlycomedy.bsky.social I was able to recycle all my old material about immigration under a Tory government to reuse under a Labour government.

@thetrawl.bsky.social no words

Keir Starmer is my MP. This is the letter I wrote to him today. Subject: Island of Strangers? Mr Starmer, Let me tell you about this ‘stranger’.

@thetrawl.bsky.social @jemmaforte.bsky.social @marina-purkiss.bsky.social powerful thread!

Quoting Enoch Powell is never a coincidence. The Prime Minister knew what message he was sending — and who he was sending it to. Disgraceful.

“I woke up with a sense of dread…” A moving, deeply personal account from an EU citizen in Cambridge on how Labour’s new rhetoric is shaking people’s sense of belonging. Don’t miss this powerful open letter. 👇
