It still means absolutely nothing to me, so I'm glad we've retired that particular memory.

I've been called a boomer as an insult, by a 20-something. I was about 45 at the time. Officially, the youngest boomers were born in 1964. No one under 60 is a boomer. #TheArchers

Still no recollection though.

Or maybe just explain what it means?

You quote this regularly at me and I have no idea or recollection what it means, it's literally meaningless to me. I've told you I have no recollection each time you repeat it. For the love of god can you just stop?

They gave a very good explanation on the wireless earlier. There's still a danger of contamination as the dust of regular uranium is quite toxic. But no radiation levels as no fission, as you say.

I remember a Victoria Wood sketch where a woman became a pen friend of a prisoner and was going to marry him, even though they'd never met. It was one of those fly on the wall mockumentaries.

I'm neither black nor female but I'm fucking fuming. Just imagine the indignity of being on your period at school, and being forced, in tears, to expose your private parts to officers.

Adultification of a black schoolgirl in a way they would have been unlikely to treat a white child? And the teachers just allowed this? Institutional racism in the school system and in the police is still alive. #bbcpm #ChildQ

I missed that class because I went to secondary school in the rural, true blue Tory heartlands - but somehow managed to be gay? I just don't understand. Maybe there's more to it than socialism.

A excerpt of Margaret Thatcher's speech to the Conservative Party Conference 9 October 1987, in which she paved the way for Section 28 and for future generations to persecute LGBTQ people. Being gay is all the fault of 'hard left education authorities and extremist teachers' apparently.

I'm a cyclist and I'm always muttering under my breath when I get carved up or have a near miss with an e-bike courier. But then I remember how good my life is and how I'm not delivering crap food to ungrateful people for a pittance in all weathers.

- delivery orders for people who are sat at indoors on their arses (joke).

It's infuriating, but I guess it's the contract they'll have with the grocery shop who make promises like 'no problem, we'll get it to you in 20 minutes'. I'm the same in Asda - no staff on checkouts for the customers there in person, but the aisles are full of staff pushing trolleys fulfilling home

I agree, it's the companies that rely on these workers risking lives - including their own- to turn a healthy profit. But I am much more sympathetic now I've thought about the riders' hardship.

So you wouldn't cycle on a pavement to make ends meet, knowing you're going to lose your accommodation if you don't do those ten drops an hour and all that stands between you and homelessness is cycling the wrong way up a one way street?

It's modern slavery, and perpetuation of an underclass that we both loathe and depend on. So before you slag off all e-bike delivery people who ride on pavements and jump lights, count your blessings and check your privilege. #R4Today

Many of these people are from elsewhere. They aren't stealing jobs British people could do, they're doing jobs British people WON'T do. The only way they can afford accommodation on that wage is sharing rooms - which we thought had ended with Robin's Nest in the 1970s. Or by working 18 hour days.

If you've ever ordered a meal to be delivered but groaned at the £2 delivery charge, remember the rider needs to make 7 deliveries an hour to make over £12.21 (UK minimum wage). That's one every 8½ minutes. Restaurant, customer's home, restaurant, customer's home each time. #R4Today

The Tories have spent generations keeping the servant class down near minimum wage - or below it - if they can get away with it.

I hope everyone pulls out until Kate and Jakob get a nice week away in Albania, just them.

Everyone said again and again that they knew exactly what they were voting for. Which surely includes all these unintended consequences such as people arriving on our shores in unsafe vessels - because we ended our arrangements with French authorities who were dealing with people trafficking gangs.

That's exactly what they voted for, a complete exit from the EU. The Leave campaign told us the EU needed us more than we needed them - and they'd be banging the door down to do business with us. They're not.
Leaving was an act of sabotage, in the name of "sovereignty" - which we already had.

Do you think it'll actually happen? It will be a departure from the usual daily format if we go away with them for a week or so.

Over the years, many people had replaced their front doors, often for non-fire-safe doors. They contributed to the tragedy as the staircase was no longer a safe escape route. The fact that building inspections didn't notice is also criminal.

Yes, I'll give you that.

He also explained very well how to turn your house into a chimney. Then he went on to tell us how we could turn apartment blocks into self ventilating chimneys by the strategic opening of doors into public areas to create a draught.
The people of Grenfell already know how effective that is 🤦🏻♂️

I spent a week beside Loch Awe a few years ago, where our sleep and sanity was ruined by a very vocal chaffinch. From dawn to dusk, right outside the window, for 13 hours a day.
