Fun fact: for many years the PlayStation 3 was the number 1 device for NetFlix streaming.

I too come from a land where the main measure of success was how many fridges you have in the garage. I have two so I'm doing all right by my family (except for the whole gay thing).

Let’s assume that 20% is right for a moment - data centers in the US account for between 4% to 5% of all electrical usage.
20% of that is not “a ton” (it’s also wrong)

Industrial, agricultural, cooling your ass, charging your EV, etc, all consume vastly more energy than data centers do which is around 4% of electrical use today in the US. And AI use cases are a percentage of that.
So this whole argument is without any real basis.

We would of had that buggy dismantled and thrown off the road in about 3 minutes

This argument doesn’t really land for me because what they did to Aaron was incredibly UNJUST. I do not want to encourage a regime where that is how we handle things.

When the PS/2 was introduced in the late 80s. That was literally when everyone stopped caring. The clone market became the PC market.

the thing about arguing for remote work is that you're arguing with people whose opening position is "i can only work with people if i can touch them"
and somehow "i don't need a two hour commute to open a laptop" is completely left field

No. But there really wasn’t an infosec twitter. Or infosec masterdom. So at least we’re consistent.

Lesbians taking care of dying men of aids is a feel good story but there is zero evidence to support it. Just the opposite really.

We shouldn’t bury so many sacrifices by so many people under events that didn’t move the needle or simply wasn’t true.

Saying that - stonewall was essentially forgotten within weeks after in happened. It’s true that is why a lot of pride events happened in June though. Lesbians sheltering dying gay men while they were dying has almost zero evidence to support it.

I don’t recall God ever coming up in my entire Minnesota grade through high school journey. Even us catholics did boy scouts at the lutheran church and never questioned it. But this queer kid occasionally ran into issues he could still play hockey better and literally hit back during gym.
