This would be an absolute travesty. This is very much like sending people to Libya. S Sudan has been in civil war almost continuously since its independence. It has never developed a functioning government and most live in extreme poverty. It cannot be trusted to run viable detention centers

The wife of the Vietnamese national emailed an attorney begging for help. She said ICE told the group they would be sent to South Africa but they refused to sign docs, then were told they'd go to Sudan instead
She said others were nationals of Pakistan, Mexico, Thailand, Laos & Korea

I appreciate that you introduced this. It is important. I wish I had known earlier so I could have advocated with my senators in time

I donated to Women with a Vision. I'm sure any of the partners would appreciate a donation: The Louisiana Abortion Fund, Women with a Vision, The Reproductive Justice Action Collective, and the Birthmark Doula Collective

Van Hollen’s trip to El Salvador is a form of embodied protest and helped put Trump’s illegal deportation of Abrego Gracia on the front page of the NYT two days in a row.
As Bayard Rustin once said, “The only weapons we have are our bodies, and we need to tuck them in places so wheels don't turn.”

Many others have passed. You can find those in the tracker too. If you're protesting, please check them out so you can make informed choices.

These are mostly state, and some federal, and they punish things you might not think of, like wearing a mask.
A bunch of bills are pending now and more are being introduced. Please monitor this tracker ( icnl.org/uspro… ) to be able to advocate against bills in your state.

This bill strips federal judges of the ability to stop Trump’s most extreme orders. It passed 219–213. Republicans don’t want 3 co-equal branches—they want obedience. The Senate might stop it, but we must stay loud and vigilant. They will shred every safeguard if we let them.

Call even if s/he will likely vote Yes & even if the bill will likely pass the House. They must record how many calls they get for & against; we can't let them think there is only support for giving more and more power to the Presidency. Your Rep's # can be found here: www.house.gov/representati...

the actions it wants to ban are not "rogue"; they have been judges' standard practice for centuries. This bill would eliminate essential "checks and balances" that keep Americans safe from abuse of power.
