CHANGEOVER, by Giri Nathan, lays out the case for a new era in tennis defined heavily by the rivalry of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. out with the "geriatric elite" of Djoker, Federer and Rafa, in with the absurd athleticism of Carlitos and Jannik! www.publishersweekly.com/9781668076248

the layout really is blue note-ish! if i remember correctly it’s a picture of a classical pianist with absolutely no connection to the band lol

they both tend to bank off the glass in a spectacular but unfortunate way

I like that he doesn't seem to fall into the usual cadences of TV commentary and follows an idea for longer than seems "natural" for the medium

the ATOs are great, I agree. but why doesn’t this same creativity translate to the half-court offense? this is a roster with a lot of cool off-ball pieces and yet the offense is highly repetitive, predictable, and ended the playoffs with a middling ORTG

he was excellent on defense and I’m open to the idea that fans are missing the subtleties in Thibs offense - so how would you describe those subtleties, and why does it always end up looking like JB pounding the ball to dust and KAT woefully underused
