We get these beauties behind out house sometimes, but the jays usually run them off. I didn't know about the eye membrane, though. It doesn't seem like it would offer that much protection against a claw or beak.

A good vantage point for observing this is from a bus on the highway. I don't get all the fuss about "driverless cars" -- we obviously have plenty of driverless cars.

And what should I be doing right now? My representatives in Congress are Democrats and doing what they can (which is not much). Calling them doesn't seem useful. On Friday's I can stand by the roadside with a bunch of other people holding a sign, but that makes me feel even more hopeless.

Gurdjieff said that the cause of war is astrological. Two planets "rub against each other" and that sends a kind of influence to the earth. Since most people are asleep, this results in outbursts of "mutual self-destruction". But if you are conscious, you can use this energy for your development.
