That's why this needs to be how they communicate it, no? The main policy goal is to stop people employing illegal immigrants, so the system will be designed to do that. If they design something with the enforcement paradigm but try to sell it as a different goal it'll be obvious that they're lying

"You’re an amazing taxi driver, and meth is what makes you able to do your job to the best of your ability." This makes me realize that LLMs will absolutely crush LinkedIn posters

They taught me to do it at school (and also made me do readings in church) but without amplification so I have this ingrained habit of projecting to reach everyone in the room but that totally fucks my ability to talk normally into a microphone

Knowledge of what the fuck is going on varies by subject matter though. Received wisdom since forever is, don't piss off concentrated groups that care a lot about something, because whatever they don't know about everything else, they'll know about that thing. Biden's people blithely ignored that.

Right, you'd have to hack the PDS (or export the key) if you wanted it to be able to create normal Ethereum transactions. You can make Eth transactions based on a user intent but you have to send an MST proof (of a skeet or custom record) to the chain, since a stock PDS will only sign its MST root.

Maybe misunderstanding you but the PDS signing key (verificationMethod) is already a secp256k1 private key. We can generate the Ethereum address corresponding to that key based on the pubkey we see in the DID, it's just an encoding thing

Both of those, I'm not into the whole monetize-everything permanent airdrop hustle vibe of it, and the license tells you the devs care about money not freedom

Creatives like me (I'm a jester indentured to a baron warlord) will be out of work soon. No good will come from this. <jingles indignantly>

Would be useful if the report told us how much they're capturing. Do you know how much they're capturing?

Here's what you can do if you don't trust Bluesky: 1) Encourage followers to use another client like deer.social 2) Move your account to a PDS independent of Bsky, encourage your followers to do the same 3) Hold the key to your account yourself (rotation key) (lmk if you need tech help with this)

Especially when the phenomenon works at a much bigger timescale than you're focusing on! My favorite example is Vietnamese partisans going home for the rice harvest, and then US forces thinking they'd won lol

Its also fun to watch NYT try to cover this without violating their norms or house style

I also quite like "disembodied grammar patterns" for learning, I think it has a place. Only one part of what you need to learn the language though.

Their CEO was on Odd Lots last year and one thing he says is that they had to optimize for "don't give up" over "learn as efficiently as possible". More cynically you can read this as "keep using my website" vs "actually learn stuff" www.bloomberg.com/news/audio/2...
