And? Who is going to stop him? The Dems, the Law.... Lol..

When it comes to the Democrats, you have to assume that any stupid idea is probably on their agenda.

We never truly moved on. We would’ve been much better off if we had done one of two things: 1 . Taken a proper stance and given appropriate treatment to those who supported slavery, some form of closure - Nuremberg-style reckoning 2. Gone our separate ways and seen where we each ended up.

Not sure why, but if she voted, I’m not sure I’d like her answer. Being naive about Trump, after everything he did and openly promised to do, is a whole different level to me. I genuinely have no words for it. Stupid and naive don’t even begin to cover it. I hope I’m wrong in my assumption here

There is something deeply unsettling about the people of the US. We are a sick nation.

Our health care system is barbaric. We’re still sold the idea that we’re the only free country in the world, an illusion they have to shove down our throats daily just to keep us believing it. As George Carlin said, 'They call it the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.'

Well said!!

We are too spoiled, too ignorant, and lack any real sense of national belonging.
comment in response to post
If that were ever possible, we wouldn’t be where we are as a nation, and the Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to us.

The truly maddening part is, we know this. The world knows it. Hell, even many of his own voters know he’s completely unhinged. And yet, NOTHING changes. He could shoot a crowd of people on 5th Ave and STILL walk away untouched.

We are not a serious nation. She gets to keep her job and be promoted in the near future.

and will continue to do so ....

Not if the Dems win. Only if the Reps get mad eventually. That is the saddest truth...

The same can be said for the rest of the population, education holds the key to human prosperity. That’s exactly why Christianity has been so passionate about tearing it down for the last 2,000 years. Always was, and always will be.

And I will happily vote for the next Democrat who makes reversing this decision their top priority. Everything else is just more of the same. I’m done voting for these vanilla centrists masquerading as an opposition party

It should come as no surprise that it’s been used to justify some of the most ingenious crimes in human history. Religious indoctrination on this scale, combined with poor education, is a lethal mix we may not survive.

The lowest common denominator - $$$

All without realizing that no one actually believes they can do anything. Not even I believe that, and I’ve voted Democrat my whole life. I have no other explanation!/2

The majority of the Democratic Party seem like people who are just ashamed to be Republicans in public. They admire the GOP's strength, courage, and zeal, hoping that when the next voting cycle comes around, people will be mad enough at Republicans to finally vote for them. /1

I will never understand that. For someone who basically lives online and should have extensive knowledge of every grifter or clown (like David) masquerading behind pseudo-profound bullshit, these aren't small mistakes.

Ouch.... I did not see that one. That is bad.

Beautiful summary! 1000% correct

If the Dems were doing anything similar, the politicians in the House and the Senate would literally be throwing shit and blocking every possible institution until it was resolved! That is the entire difference between the parties. That is why they never have to 'motivate' their base.

I don’t think anything can surpass the qualification of being bad for a country that elected Trump president .... TWICE! Everything else fails in comparison.

She doesn’t stand a chance. The Dems will do their bidding, drown out her voice, and limit her impact. The Reps, as usual, will be forever grateful. The rest of us get to bitch in this echo chamber. The changes we need are nowhere in sight.

This was expected for anyone paying attention. What I didn’t predict was Apple bending over for Trump, though it tracks. Most technocratic leaders are morally compromised by nature; climbing that ladder usually requires a certain deformity of conscience.

To what end?
comment in response to post
Nah, I knew that in 2015 when the orange shitler was elected the first time!!!

How we’ve lasted 250 years is an even bigger mystery to me. A staggering amount of ignorance, greed, and credulity shouldn’t have made it this far.

The Dems are the problem too. A big one.
comment in response to post
This is in part why christians love him. Against education, they stay united!
comment in response to post
I respect your enthusiasm, but we’re facing two huge problems: 1. As long as the GOP stays racist and proudly ignorant, their base won’t abandon them, even if it kills them. 2. We have no real opposition, just coked-up centrists drifting through space and time.

Let me guess.... Americans.

The Republicans will do whatever, and I mean literally WHATEVER it takes to accomplish their goals. That’s the entire difference. Meanwhile, the Democrats are politically futile. This won’t be an easy fix, and it’s going to get much worse. Just watch.

These days, I’m only mildly surprised when people sell themselves out for airtime, hoping for what? A bigger reach, no matter the cost? Why not reach out to Trump while you're at it? Maybe he’d help too. With all the ugliness surrounding him, who’s to say he wouldn’t? By your logic, you should!
comment in response to post
Nothing new here, really. The Dems are not an opposition party, they’re just there to occasionally cushion the blow when Reps go too far or to give them the votes they need. Other than that, they serve no real purpose.

In all honesty, given that at this point people on this site are more or less part of the same bubble, what exactly is the news, shock, or surprise here? The US is a plutocracy where laws are written but allowed to be interpreted freely, kind of like the Bible.

It can't, and it shouldn't. We need to stop lying to each other once and for all. As long as the other side is solely focused on racism and various forms of oppression, we do not, and should not, share the same future under one roof. Enough with the Kool-Aid.

They know exactly which parts of the law to exploit, and that’s precisely what they’re doing. They apply the same logic everywhere else. What can the dems do about it next time they are in power. .... HMMMM, let me think....
