I’m a special education teacher and I’m glad my students are too young to know that some of the richest, most privileged people in our country are working to limit their access to free and appropriate education and eliminate policies on equity and inclusion. This is not America anymore.

I spent the duration of a lockdown drill trying to get a 6 y/o w/autism to eat a lollipop so he’d stay quiet. Telling him he can’t sing & we can’t play. Hugging him when he yelled “scared” b/c he’s afraid of the dark. But thank goodness pride flags are being removed from schools. 😑

Incentivized?! 3 million+ households with single mothers live below the federal poverty line, vs about 750k single father households. Over 30% of single parent income goes to childcare vs to 10% of 2 parent households. The aid is not enough to close gaps let alone an incentive to have kids.

Yep. Made a pact with a friend that I would my delete my account and the app and she got rid of Tik Tok. We’ve both felt better since. Not that we’re happy with the state of things, but limiting exposure to vile people/bots has helped.
