They're also gutting our renewables!! Personally I've really not been enjoying having 100 degree days in DC in June, so this is another reason to shout about it!!!!!

If someone doesn’t understand that you don’t exist for them, fuck em. If someone doesn’t understand that you are not the role they have defined for you, fuck em. If someone doesn’t understand that your qualities are not their infinite resource, fuck em.

I grow tired of watching siblings across the queer spectrum die. By absence of aid. By systemic neglect. And systemic action.
Today's the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.
And I just ... celebration is wonderful, yes. But resistance is better.
I got nothing pithier. I'm just very tired...

But I think sometimes it's why Wrath Month appeals to me more than Pride Month. Whether it's co-opting by corporate interest or the gentling of message and approach, the rebranding of resistance (as riot in response to state violence) into asking to be allowed to exist, is a slow death. ->

Except the problem of course is that all playing purity or respectability politics gets you in the end is dead. Sometimes quick, sometimes slow. But it's easy to suffocate a movement that rolls over and doesn't fight.
It's a fine line to walk. And neither option leaves you unscathed. ->

Pride began as a riot, and became a celebration in hindsight and in looking forward. Partly because it's easier -- more palatable -- for non-queer people to swallow when defanged. And to grow a movement, sometimes you have to bare your throat and play domesticated. Play by the rules, as it were. ->
