The status quo cannot hold, not when the fascists are at the gate, tearing down the country. This is a time for leadership, for forward-looking vision and rallying the country for change.

Abortion access has been lost because a small fringe movement was not stopped from advancing their agenda. This is happening with LGBTQ rights in the crosshairs now. It’s not an issue where you can break out one element & concede on that point. Minorities are protected or they are not.

It is a niche issue that’s taken the place of the abortion ā€œissueā€ as a way to stir up emotion & division. I think the only way to defeat that is not to take the bait at all. They win when progressive voices get lost in the weeds. Protection of minorities is the role of government. Full stop.

Honest question. What is your opinion based on? Trans athletes have had very little historic impact on sports in general. Sports organizations have their own policies & rules for competition & enforce them. These organizations have been in place for many years & trans athletes have not been an issue

Unless Canadians make it clear we are the shareholders we’ll have yet another government serving corporate interests. My one actual hope for this govt is a shift to UBI might be possible with Carney - he could sell it as an ā€œefficientā€ economic decision. But not holding my breath.

I’d argue he’s a more focused & effective version - Harper had to measure everything against a political ā€œmoralityā€ that he & his Reform crew created as the basis for their version of the party. Carney isn’t as limited and he’s behaving like a new CEO after a takeover.

Authoritarians offer clarity in a chaotic world. They speak in absolutes. They don’t waver. They project strength—what Taylor calls ā€œpathological certainty.ā€ And for the disconnected, that feels like safety.

Honestly don’t know how you do it. The constant shit these chaos monkeys throw at you is unbelievable. šŸ’
