Wowzers Matt, I loved watching him and had no idea whatsoever that he died in 2014.

LOL. My mother would never accept the charges but it was not worth asking as they never, ever picked me up from anywhere. Ever. Walked 10 miles home a fair few times.

Hard to argue with that.

We have asked Rasa, Ray's wife, for more info about what happened in Bradford in the early 60s but she is not forthcoming. She and Mary (my mother) were best friends and met The Kinks in the working mens clubs in Bradford in the early 60s and went to London with them.

Agreed. Ray Davies is up there with John Lennon in the song writing dept ! Our mum and dad turned out to be truly horrible people who hid so many things and lied to us. We were hoping Ray was papa...not to be. Mother died in Spain of Covid a few years ago, no-one attended her funeral.

Ray has been a recurring theme is my brothers life, so we suspected !

Story is much more long winded than that, but that is the crux of it.

LOL. She was a 60s groupie and was seeing him. He binned her off and married her best friend Rasa. Recently discovered a new brother born in the 60s and we had to have DNA test to rule Ray out. He is not papa to either of us. Gutted.

Hard to disagree. Myself, my good lady and kids have all volunteered there. Running a food bank for less fortunate people whilst running for Reform just did not quite add up for me. Hence, distancing myself from it.

Sad to say I was once friends with Mark, have donated time and money and a PS5 to the food bank. I had to distance myself from him and Abbie when he ran for Reform.

Did you see the sunset ? I have a great Ray Davies story btw....he was nearly my dad !

Many a good night out in Weymouth when I was a yoof in the RN. Before they shut the dockyard at Portland. The Black Dog pub was awesome.

v. sad. I live near Oulton and is home circuit for our main man Adam Smalley. Used to sponsor him as a junior. Out of my league now.
comment in response to post
Read about that. Terrible. Been to Oulton many times as my friend is a race car driver. Really, really sad.

They clearly don't even know what a Union Jack is. It's actually called Union Flag...unless flown on the Jackstaff of a British warship.

My GF when I was 18, her parents owned the Dog and Duck pub in Henley. Way too many nights at the bar drinking free pints of real ale.

Spent plenty of time there in my Navy days. Nothing to say about it really.

Spent many years as a kid in Wallingford, went to St Johns Primary and Wallingford Comp. Bit out of my price range nowadays.

Reform is just insanity. The people of Runcorn will find out the hard way..

She, and her wife, have been great friends to me over the years, stayed at her house many times, her health has always been a prob. She is a v. private person and that remains the same. But, WHAT a performer ! She plays that down !

Breaking Glass was epic and she was a teenage crush for me. To meet her later in life and become friends was just epic.

Not far from you dude, and feel exactly the same. Sad to say, not voting today. Disenchanted is the perfect word.
