Purposely ignorant. I have no idea why he keeps his job. He doesn't know what he's talking about

What are you talking about? They were killing aid workers while Biden was President and he spent a lot of political capital defending the Netenyahu government.

It's an easy thing to pretend to support because there is 0% chance another pipeline is built in our lifetime. Oil is $63/barrel!

Joe Kernan is 100% MAGA and shouldn't be on any show pretending to be an objective business show.

I have no idea what you're even trying to say.

Wait until they tell you that you can't criticize Israel unless you also criticized the Sudan civil war first.
comment in response to

Sadly, many people who blindly support Israel have label any criticism to be antisemitism. Crying wolf like this makes Jews less safe because it devalues the word. For example, I don't take anything the ADL says seriously anymore, and I'm Jewish and very concerned about true anti-semitism.

You're quite good at gaslighting. Anyway, it seems there's nothing more to discuss here, so please fuck off.

Saying that it didn't accomplish what you would like is a whole lot different than saying that it was wrong, you fucking dunce.

The fact that people are trying very hard to legitimize these murders is alarming to me, and I'm pretty outspoken about the rendering of the word "antisemitism" meaningless by pro-war Jews.

I'm sure the genocide will stop now.

Oops. That wasn't what I meant!

Right, I don't think there has been any indication that these two staffers have had anything to do with the war in Gaza.

I do agree that if the killer targeted them for being embassy employees it changes the calculation a little bit regarding antisemitism. Hopefully we learn more about how he chose his victims.
comment in response to
post
"Depending on their role" indicates that you agree that not all employees are culpable for their employers actions.
comment in response to
post
First of all, I agreed with you. Both things are true. I didn't say that Bibi's action *should* make us less safe, I'm saying that it *does* make us less safe. Every organization tracking antisemitic incidents is documenting this very fact.
comment in response to
post
Did the killer know they worked for the embassy? Is every American who worked for the US foreign service complicit for their many war crimes as well?
comment in response to

Also true

Assuming that all Jews support the atrocities being committed by Netenyahu is antisemitic.
comment in response to
post
Wow. Would it be appropriate to target you for the misdeeds of the Trump administration, then?
comment in response to
post
Yes, everyone is pretty clear that there has been a massive surge in antisemitism since Oct 7. Israeli actions make diaspora Jews less safe, but that doesn't mean that it's not antisemitism.
comment in response to
post
I didn't realize these two were setting IDF policy in Gaza. So I guess your implication is that all Jews deserve to die because of the actions of some Israeli war criminals? Not antisemitic at all!

I get why this seems corrupt, but he announced that he would be doing something stupid on "Liberation Day". You only had to predict that he was actually going to follow through with his stupidity. Even I sold before this entirely predictable market plunge.

There's a huge difference between "a smartphone" and an iPhone. If you're paying more than $250 for a smartphone you are financially irresponsible, no matter how much money you make.

The problem is that Dems are much too eager to accept Republicans framing of issues, and end up saying being afraid of their own policies and values rather than trying to define Republicans as maniacs. Talking points work, but Dems refuse to use them.
comment in response to

You always say this, but never mention which rightward shifts you're talking about. The Dems are a center-right party.

You'll also give them a veto over anything the majority party wants to do. I'm not convinced.

What exactly is your point? This was an anti-semitic attack. Hamas is a terrorist organization. Should people who disagree with what the Netanyahu administration shut up then? There are anti-semites everywhere, including the people propping up Netenyahu. Where is their NY Times article?
comment in response to
post
The issue is that you're dealing with opposition that acts in bad faith. Even if take every effort to root out any antisemitic elements, the pro-Israel folks will never give you any credit for it and still paint you as antisemitic and pro-hamas.
comment in response to
post
That's exactly what you're saying by defending the NY Times framing of this. They're trying to delegitimize the entire movement because of the actions of one person and you're agreeing with them. 🤷🏼♂️
comment in response to
post
There is obviously plenty of anti-semitism in the movement, but then what, I guess no one can object to the atrocities in Gaza because some people that agree with that are terrible? Funny how that's only applied to movements on the left (see BLM rioters).
comment in response to
post
And how common is that wording among people that don't like bombing civilians? I certainly reject it, yet people will now equate me as being pro-murder, pro-hamas because I think Netenyahu is a war criminal. This murderer doesn't get to define my values.
