‘SINNERS’ has become the highest-grossing live-action original film domestically in the past 15 years, bringing in over $267M in the US.

Please start talking to your felon-supporting relatives—the ones who chose an adjudicated rapist over a woman—before you come asking the demographic who y’all actually hate, who saw this coming, who never wanted this, to go risk life and limb for you.

After I watched those people storm the capitol on January 6, I vowed to never again be shocked on behalf of this country. It’s a struggle to hold that line as I watch L.A.

RESPECTABILITY POLITICS NEVER SAVED ANYONE.

The federal minimum wage was rescinded from $17 to $13 per hour…

King of Ashes is out in the world today I did the best I could... Hope y'all enjoy it 😌

The federal government is telling you they cannot afford to house you, feed you, educate you or heal you — but that they do have enough resources and scale to criminalize, assault, deport and incarcerate your neighbors simply going to work or taking their kids to graduation.

After many years of practice on other countries, America is finally carrying out a rightwing coup on itself, like a jaded big game hunter who finds there’s only one species he hasn’t yet slaughtered, and places the shotgun under his own chin.

The more I look at the prep and legal reasoning behind invading LA, the more it looks like that the administration wants to seize supreme authoritarian power over the corpse of the republic through force of arms but also doesn’t want to do any actual work to do so. Rather surreal.

Everything happening is so exhausting and draining. You feel like you want to take a break from the news but then realise the least you can do is speak up. So you feel guilty for turning away for just a second. We’re stuck in a cycle of wanting to do more and feeling helpless.

why is the president the only person testing the limits of his power? everyone should see what they can get away with. what if zookeepers gave helicopters to gorillas? nobody has tried this

In general, the US populace is not prepared for the moment we're in.

Let me tell you something... Life????? Knows how to humble you

I tend to think about what is happening to America right now as the ongoing attempted murder-suicide of multiracial democracy by a white nationalist minority and it’s very frightening but what’s happening in LA feels like a good sign that we’re not going down without a fight

I am 100% confrontational and I do not think it’s a bad thing when done correctly. Like I’m not with the passive aggressive shit and talking to any and everybody but the person I have an issue with. I will absolutely go to the person directly lol.

The weird, often whitewashed way the civil rights movement is taught (or not taught) seemed to convince a lot of people that nonviolence was met with nonviolence, instead of you know, dogs, hoses, beatings, death, etc

If undocumented workers with no criminal history are being dragged from job sites that they’ve worked at for years, then when do the CEOs, contractors, and farm owners who employed them start getting handcuffed? Or is that not how “justice” works in America?

always remember: “I was just following orders” is not a valid defense for human rights violations

Meanwhile Israel is genociding Palestinians with US weapons, political support and funds. I just...

Undocumented immigrants pay almost $100 billion in taxes each year. The top 1% evade $163 billion in taxes each year. Stop pretending that immigrants are the ones taking advantage of taxpayers.

Cops cannot be 'reasoned' with. They do what they want with impunity in the US and a lot of people simply refuse to acknowledge this reality.

Found out today that my state cut all preexisting funding for overdose prevention, addiction, & “harm reduction efforts to reduce overdose rates and deaths.” The city I live and work in has as many overdose deaths as San Francisco and my state is in the top worst for overdose for the past 15 years.

"Therefore the historical suppression of writers is the earliest harbinger of the steady peeling away of additional rights and liberties that will follow. The history of persecuted writers is as long as the history of literature itself."

“Desire paths” are unofficial trails, usually bypassing a planned path, that reveal the most convenient route to get somewhere. The people (AKA meanderthals) that tramp along these routes often wear away grass, creating the secondary path Walk this way for more on desire paths (a thread / tread)...
