This is why the Black civil rights leaders in the 1960s spent so much time planning their marches and sit ins. They also trained protesters not to retaliate.

Saw him a couple months ago on the train at Atlanta airport. Everyone recognized him and he smiled warmly. Seemed like a nice guy.

This is good advice in general. Being successful (in any conventional sense) requires effort, time, and a willingness to push beyond what’s required. That’s easier to do when you are motivated by the topic.

Want to amend this: Our system of checks & balances is in peril. The courts are our last resort; 2 concerns: 1) Courts lack enforcement mechanisms especially w/ the current DOJ 2) SCOTUS ignores the Constitution & precedent to advance their agenda (eg Unitary Executive) We must push back.

Non-lawyer here. Doesn’t returning Garcia to face charges present a logical trap for the Trump WH? They have claimed that all the men sent to CECOT did horrible things in this country. If true and we’re bringing back Garcia to face charges then why aren’t we bringing them back all?

Bondi’s press conference was a disgusting and performative display. Our system of checks and balances is effectively gone. Bondi and other WH officials acts with disdain for Congress and the law. They fear no consequences other than Trump’s anger.

You know you’re having a bad day when Anthony Scaramucci is trolling you about your tenure in the Trump WH.

Nothing inspires confidence like youth, inexperience, and an official portrait that looks like a 3rd rate Bond villain.

If accused, we have rights under our Constitution to have evidence presented, interrogated, & independently judged. We must force the president to recognize this or no one -- not you, not me, not your kid -- has rights, just the perpetual threat of foreign gulag. bsky.app/profile/reic...

Agree with you - this is awful and dangerous and the MSM and D’s should highlight it relentlessly. And maybe this will be the straw that breaks the back of public opinion. However, for the life of me, I can’t see why we didn’t cross that threshold months ago.

Look, a broken clock is right twice a day. It’s still broken and doesn’t deserve redemption.

I realize the is performative nonsense designed to distract the public from Trump’s shambolic policies and actions but what part of doctor-patient confidentiality does Comer not understand?

Not certain what is worse: Nominating someone who is so obviously unqualified Or Accepting the nomination.

Sadly that is the perfect reference. It also reinforces the importance of a liberal arts education.

I’m not certain that being patient with those who argue in bad faith is constructive. It implies a legitimacy that isn’t deserved (ie this wasn’t a honest misstatement or misunderstanding). Plainly stating that only a liar or an obdurate ass could say this would better inform the viewers.

This is a good example of how R’s have been able to control the Overton window on key topics. Simple messages + relentless repetition + shameless disregard for facts

3/ Let’s speak plainly: for Uber it appears that these assaults were just the cost of doing business. There was too much money at stake to worry about details like this. Also, we need to change the law so that executives who make these decisions are criminally liable for these events.

2/ One of the regulations Uber ignored required background checks on all their drivers. As a direct result of this strategy several women were sexually assaulted. Uber hid behind the construct that drivers were contractors and therefore they had no liability.

1/ Uber is a perfect example of this. Their strategy was to roll out to key markets quickly - even if state regulations prevented them from operating legally. Uber bet that consumer demand would force state legislators to change the law to accommodate them.

Ok but if a certain HHS Secretary contracted it I wouldn’t cry either.
