Funnily enough I bought a copy the other day! I should get around to it in the next week or so.

Agatha Christie
Stephen King
Graham Greene
Iris Murdoch

Probably a few others too… Always rather liked Nemesis. Those later Marple books ( At Bertram’s Hotel is another one ) often get a bad press but they’re so much fun!

I know the book well but I’ve never seen that gorgeous cover before! Terrific find.

Great list! I’d probably put My Cousin Rachel at Number 1 just because it’s a little more ‘me’ than Rebecca. Great to see The Scapegoat up there too - it’s so clever. Of those you haven’t read The Parasites is great. Not her usual setting or style but it’s a terrific read.

About fifty pages in. Loving it so far, comes across as part JL Carr, part Henry Green and part Inside No 9.

Absolutely loved these! My Dad bought me The Mystery of the Whispering Mummy when I was about nine or ten and from then on I was hooked. Happy memories …❤️
