I’m no lawyer but it seems likely this will be used as a defense in lower courts.

Wondering also about how J6 posts were considered and any precedent from that might be applied here

The law itself is chillingly vague and upon reading it I was immediately curious about the precedent; thx for posting this. If only they applied the same standards to prosecuting harassment of non-presidents on social media! All the same these cases deserve robust 1A lawyering.

This is nonsense. All help is help, but if the point is to put skin in the game and make a meaningful, visible stand on behalf of people who are vulnerable, and to make that stand in the face of potential repercussions so that others might follow suit, this is not it.

What's scary about this kind of verbal spew is that it might have spawned from a kernel of truth. Like maybe he was briefed on some intelligence re this trip, precautions taken, etc., and his brain just jackpots because he's got asymmetric information with entertainment value & a captive audience.

Dodgers: This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.

I'd like to know too but it's hard to imagine they wouldn't have found some other pretext. You can't "win" against fascism with good-faith paper arguments.

Swap? What’s the part of the swap where we get something for it?

Absolutely insane that the Constitution protects you from this but for $1.49 LE can subvert it.

These people are too stupid to appreciate irony.

Are they using Van Halen’s music with permission? EVH railed against it when McCain did it, and I can’t see DLR liking this.

Impeach the president. It is your only job.

Dear media: Padilla was assaulted. He was unarmed. He was thrown to the ground. He wasn’t “removed.” Facts matter. Don’t sanitize the truth. Report factually what occurred. That’s something we’re all taught on Day 1 of J School as freshman in college.

It’s a good follow, but honestly this post is pretty great and more “simple genius” than most things there. It reminds me of how the Sikh cabbies in Silicon Valley used to hold flip phones to their ears during calls by wedging the upper portions into their turbans.

If Karen Bass fails to meet this moment, it will be the end of her political career. She should see the opportunity to do so as a gift given the way things went for her with the fires.
