Medgar Evers was a civil rights leader but was also a World War II veteran that landed at Omaha Beach 81 years ago. The alky Faux contributer of defense secretary wants to rename a Naval ship that has Evers's name on it.

Yesterday evening we attended Schwabenfest, put together by the Donauschwaben German-American Cultural Center. It is basically an early Octoberfest with German Beer, music, food and dancing. They will have Octoberfest in a few months. Rain cut our stay a little short, but we enjoyed it, as always.
