I look to identify at least one positive thing/event each day. Today’s is HUGE. Breathing a sigh of relief for his family. Holding hope for others wrongfully detained 💗

A corrupt, authoritarian government seizes an innocent man, tortures and jails him on trumped-up charges that change during a manipulated "legal" process. The prisoner is left at the mercy of dehumanizing politicians & jailers to do with what they please. Holy Week then. America now.

Well done, Spokane. Well done 💗🤗🇺🇸

Wishing everyone peace and deep breaths today. A world of change is moving so quickly—it’s okay to stop and take a breath. Be safe friends. Kamakura, Japan, Oct. 2024 #photography #travel #Japan #gardens

Dear Representative Pressley: Thank you for noticing this. However, please don’t portray it as a unique wrong done to this person. The American penal system (and immigration system) are deathtraps with appalling lack of medical care, indifference, and cruelty. /1

Went to Trader Joe’s last night and the checker asked about anything amazing I’d done with my day. I sheepishly admitted I’d taken some photos of clouds I enjoyed. Checker looked about 12 (so prolly at least 22) smiled broadly and said “REALLY? I love clouds too!” We exchanged our favorite recent

If there's one thing that domestic violence research has taught me, it's that abusers set up no-win scenarios. They punish you whether you cooperate with them or whether you push back. The only way out is to strengthen ties with people outside of the relationship who can create new, better options.

The death-rattle of Empire is horrific And it will take as many with it as it can But a new world is possible And a new world is in the process of emerging. We must work to bring it into being as quickly as we can.

🙌🏼💗 We are living now inside the imagination of people who thought economic disparity and environmental destruction were acceptable costs for their power. It is our right and responsibility to write ourselves into the future. ~ Adrienne Maree Brown, Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds

Sometimes all we can see is what’s right in front of us. But when we look up or otherwise change our perspective, there can be an entirely different world waiting. Kamakura, Japan Oct. 2024 #photography #gardens #Japan

“We bonded over bigotry, but they weren’t supposed to turn on me!” 😂 youtu.be/8QGy9D_c1pY?...

Knowledge is power…

Hey, Dems in Congress, the reason we keep calling & asking you to do more is b/c we need you to do more. From our POV it looks like there’s no strategy & we elected you to represent us. If there’s something you need us to do, tell us & we’ll help but whatever you’re doing now isn’t working.

Here’s a strategy: 1) establish the frames, what problems will these changes cause, how will they impact communities; 2) inspire people to use those frames to tell their own stories of their families or communities are impacted; 3) amplify those stories.

YES!! Called both of my senators to make this point today. Thank you for your “No” votes on ridiculous cabinet nominees…AND we desperately need better messaging & evidence of a strategy going forward. For the literal love of our country SPEAK. DO.

Former Secretary of Transportation--who was not on The Real World or Road Rules--weighs in on the President's efforts to blame the fatal air traffic accident on DEI.

More Coeur d’Alene. Looking for beauty in a dark world. #photography #PNW

Stunningly beautiful day in Coeur d’Alene yesterday #photography #PNW

I think it’s important to acknowledge when information changes our mind. Not claiming this program is flawless or for everyone, but it sounds like an ACTUAL opportunity for self-referred rehabilitation. Opportunity for meaningful work, skill acquisition, reduced sentence, record expunged 🙌🏼

Still learning how this space works. Hello to anyone new 🤗 Stunningly beautiful day on Mt. Spokane over the weekend. #photography #nature #landscape

Wow. I missed this first time around. As brave women continue breaking their silence on horrific treatment by powerful men, we need this in the discussion 🙌🏼

Snowshoeing is still good. Finding and holding all the good helps in dark times.

The fact that Republicans are attempting to straight up steal a Supreme Court seat in North Carolina by invalidating over 60,000 legally-cast votes should be getting a lot more attention than it is.
