Criterion dungeons seemed kinda interesting but I don’t think they’d be enough to get me back into it either.
Need more varied combat design in general, not just dance fights and mob spam, and that starts with more free form dps kits.
It’s something WoW still does well iirc.

I’m still a floater in my 30s to be honest. A few online connections are all I got really. But I operate surprisingly well despite that.
I do think I should probably get checked out for asocial behaviour at some point.

I am mildly concerned for the kid forced to play Sid in Toy Story, but that series overall kind of escapes unscathed. I feel like that one basically would need Disney to do a mix of stop-motion with actual toys plus some cgi in post. It might look okay, might look horrid.

Though the way xiv red mages do magic is put the focus (in this case, book) above the hilt with a reverse grip when casting, imitating a staff with the two pieces. I imagine you’d want something with different flair!

Do you want to pull the mspa shenanigan of random household object turning into a deadly weapon?
I think I’d mix a bit of xiv’s Red Mage and that idea and have the book shrink as you pull the rapier out from it like a scabbard, then have the smaller tome float above your offhand when not in use.
