I have no problem making common cause with centrists. I’ve noticed that their version of common cause is they get everything they want in ways that end up making things worse. If they want to make common cause with the left they have to compromise to the left instead of the far right.

Have you seen his friends he podcasts with?

Newsom is friends with the people who spurred on the violence

They’re worth dozens of you, you worthless fucking hack. You need to resign

I remember they refused to prosecute Wall Street executives who crashed the economy, created a housing crisis from which we still haven’t recovered, and made millions homeless for fun and profit?
comment in response to post
Dems don’t want any of those things or they would legislate on them.

Violent extremists like you make everyone less safe

And what is he doing with that control now? Is he kicking ICE out? Is he restraining police? Is he protecting his constituents?
comment in response to post
Speeches? You’re going with speeches? Fuck all the way off, the time for speeches is over. It’s time for tangible action to protect his constituents.

The Republicans sent a mob of angry bigots to kill them four years ago and Democrats decided that was ok. It’s going to be worse now because Republicans know there will never be consequences.

Yes there were two fascists on the ballot. That’s the problem.
comment in response to post
Oh shut the fuck up the people know what the fascists want to do, they just don’t trust Democrats to protect them because Democrats have been siding with the fascists. Democrats are not helping, they’re whining while voting to help Trump’s agenda. That’s why you lose. Fix your shit.

You’re a fucking moron, and that’s the nicest thing I can say about you

Voters did their job. Democrats dropped the ball. If Democrats did their job and upheld their oath to protect the constitution, Trump and a lot of powerful Republicans would be in prison for trying to overthrow the government. Instead Dems cooperated and compromised with them. So here we are.

Maura Healey supports this. What a waste electing her has been, as expected

Plus all the social media posts like MTG’s “having fun at the Willard hotel preparing for tomorrow’s insurrection!”

Useless fucking douchebag, what the hell good are you?

That sounds like a lot of work though. They didn’t get themselves elected to do work.
comment in response to post
And yet there’s no tangible response at any level from Democrats. The mayor of LA and governor of California sit meekly and mildly behind their desks letting agents of the state do this to their constituents.

But there are also so many things to love. They’re the R-rated comedy of rugby. Yeah it’s not perfectly written or shot, and yeah there’s some problematic scenes that aren’t going to help rewatchability and make you cringe that you still like it overall, but it’s entertaining as hell.

No, both parties are fighting on the same side and I don’t like either of them. How is that not obvious?

And if it was only up to elected Democrats - without the option for direct democracy via referenda - same sex marriage would not be legal anywhere in the US.
comment in response to post
Yes, because of contract law and how the Constitution works, even the same SCOTUS that gave us Citizens United couldn’t find legal justification to deny the way the federal government is tasked with upholding contracts across state lines. But then there’s no legislation codifying it so…
comment in response to post
And these measures pass in red states, too. The same election when far-right Democratic Senator (and anti-legal-cannabis) lost her election to Josh Hawley, Missouri legalized cannabis through a referendum. Take the hint, Democrats would win a lot more elections if they represented what people want.
comment in response to post
No, you need to learn how government works. Referenda aren’t placed on the ballot by political parties. It’s done fully democratically, private citizens working to get signatures & whatever money is needed to put it on the ballot during an election. It’s the only way we’ve made progress in decades.
comment in response to post
And the states that made it legal created the conditions that allowed a lawsuit; if left to representative democracy we would not have legal same sex marriage because elected Democrats still won’t vote to codify it. Thats why they lose; they don’t represent us.
comment in response to post
I did more than most elected Democrats: I voted for it in direct democracy because representative democracy doesn’t work. Elected Dems think voting for progressive ideas like same sex marriage would cost them their jobs so they opposed it. The people proved them wrong and legalized it without them.

Maybe they don’t know they’re acting inappropriately? They seem like stand-up people, and everyone makes mistakes from time to time.

Need a new chief in that case too

How did it get to court in the first place? What law was being challenged and how?

How did it get to the Supreme Court?

No it’s not hard to oppose Republicans, Democrats simply choose to not do it

Trump wouldn’t be in power if Democrats did their jobs

We know Republicans are dangerous. We also know we need an opposition party and there aren’t any.

We’re not picking our own side apart. Democrats aren’t on our side, that’s the problem. They side with Republicans.

comment in response to post
Nobody is blaming Democrats for this. They’re asking Democrats to at least stand up for themselves even if they won’t stand up for the people.
comment in response to post
So do something about it

I missed that it wasn’t them
comment in response to post
And that has what to do about the fact that Democrats are ineffective and mostly just help white supremacists achieve their goals rather than opposing them?

And in the standard two week timeframe, at which point we will follow up on the letter with a reminder.
