I had white female peers who fell out with their parents over having interracial relationships/children in the late '00s.

"Hey, babe. Wanna come over tonight and watch some Skunt?"

We don't all want that, though. Republicans very much do not want certain people sending their kids to schools. Certain cops and prosecutors also would love for people to skip their court dates so they can have pretexts to arrest and imprison them.

I encountered an online dating profile the other day that began with "According to ChatGPT, what I'm looking for in a mate is ..." and it made me extremely depressed for the rest of the day.

I spent a whole summer walking around my neighborhood listening to that thing on my discman going "why isn't this good?". Ah, to be 15 again.

I was blithely like "nah, is fine, I'll wait. There's not even anything I want to play being released with it" and then my employer announced we were getting mid year bonuses and now it's taking all my willpower to resist the urge to start clicking around eBay listings.

Here's hoping. My older cat and younger cat never became the friends I hoped they would, but they've settled into a bullying older sister/obnoxious younger brother dynamic that is at least amusing and not overtly hostile or violent.

"Look, all I'm saying is that the Samaritan should have checked the guy's insurance card to see if he was in-network before helping him. That's just common sense!"

"Women are too emotional" Buddy, have you ever spent more than twenty minutes listening to a group of guys at a bar?

Nursing is at the top of my list of fields to get into if/when my current career goes away.

They don't want women to work, and they don't want men to be nurses, teachers, restaurant servers, whatever. It's an imaginary world

I can buy that they didn't make the definitive difference (the post COVID anti incumbent wave did that) but I think they definitely had a significant effect, particularly in whipping up first time voters.

I mean, yeah, to them most of the money going to consultants instead of the people in need of it is success.

When you're part of the most powerful and most prosperous cohort with the greatest standard of living in all of human history, the only thing that really remains out of reach and this tantalizing for you is the ability to physically and sexually dominate whomever you please however you please.

These people love to knife each other! People forget this just because they love to knife everyone else slightly more.

I've be rewatching some mid 00s comedies and realized that part of what turned the narrative on gay marriage was shifting the comedic stance from "gay people are gross and weird!" to "Gay people are weird, but fun, and anti-gay people are lame and boring"

Ok? You don't counter someone lying about what you say and do by constantly bemoaning how bad an idea it was to do and say those things you didn't do or say! Talk about literally anything else! Change the conversation!

My understanding is it's the latter.
