I teach younger kids. I have great rapport with them, and they trust me personally, but I still get these glimpses of right-wing indoctrination happening at home. I had a dad this year try to tell me schools in our district have kitty litter for furries. I had a flat father dad last year.

I'm a teacher and can attest to this. I live in a rural town in the Canadian rockies, and every year, I have a few parents sending their kids to school with all kinds of batshit crazy ideas. In some cases, their parents have convinced them that scientists and teachers lie.
