'We needed a much more fluid, elastic, and broad category that was inclusive and “queer” was, in many cases, an attempt to create that space—an anti-identity, in a sense. Relatedly, “queer” was a word that could be played with.'

You are welcome to use archive dot org to confirm.
There is a video package that includes a clip of her participating in last years events, but it's not given any special weight. Not like the guy doing a Haka(?) at the very end.

I do know she already said she was going to show, but plans change all the time. She was not, however, the face of its publicity drive. The website makes no mention of her. It's not a big deal, because *none* of the women who was in her group for last year's event registered either.

Hah, the context is more “but Manticore, I’m unemployed!”

By focusing on the timing and implying a connection to the world boxing announcement, @apnews.com has helped spread a false narrative that the two are linked in any way, and has sparked a conspiracy that Khelif is skipping the event *because* of the announcement.
You should be ashamed of yourselves

None of the boxers in Khelif's group for Eindhoven 2024 have submitted their entries for this year's cup.
@apnews.com would you also say that they have "skipped the event less than a week after World Boxing announced mandatory sex testing for all athletes."?

The whole "less than a week" framing is also bullshit.
The deadline to submit entries *itself* was less than a week away! Everybody who failed to submit an entry would have "skipped" the event "less than a week after World Boxing announced mandatory sex testing for all athletes."

Reading on, however, reveals that Imane simply *did not register in time* and has issued no statement as to the cause for missing the deadline.
There is no indication this has anything to do with the sex testing requirements, but @apnews.com wants you to think of them as related anyways.

Not to mention her still-on-the-books 2022 IBA Championship win before she turned professional.

In 2023 she had won 4 fights and was scheduled to participate in the grand finals before they banned her.

From the IBA's own timeline:

the hong kong protestors used the phrase "do not split" to mean that the radical protest and peaceful protest arms of the movement should refuse to criticize each other.

Right, no need for evidence when you have conspiratorial thinking!

Because?
Are we assuming intent and causation, or do you have an actual statement?

I thought you were trying to say her schedule meant something significant. Am I wrong?

Azalia Amineva, the Russian Boxer who Khelif defeated in 2023, also hasn't gone to any events in 2025.
MAYBE SHE'S HIDING SOMETHING TOO!

Correlation != Causation.
In 2024, not counting Eindhoven and the Olympics, she only participated in 1 other event. Boxers don't actually go to events super frequently!

please abandon the idea that if you'd just been a little nicer to your abuser that you wouldn't have got hit

It's because the premises aren't important, the conclusion is. Everything that supports the conclusion is correct, and if they're not then there are other premises that support it anyways, so it doesn't matter.

They really do shoot themselves in the foot when they try and present themselves as the reasonable ones, but then instantly start by disrespecting the subjects of the conversation, and slinging slurs when the conversation doesn't go their way.

Again, if it's obvious what's the point of requiring two tests before expulsion and allowing her to compete after failing the first one?

Unblocked now.

No, we actually don't. There's been no statement by her or her team.

... The ones issued by the IBA. In 2022 and 2023. Notably the IBA let her continue to compete in 2023 despite allegedly having the tests failed in 2022.
