Also acceptable. What would be the emoji sequence, I wonder?

The code is a work in progress but you can check it out here: github.com/guyroyse/rpg...

I'm using a custom MCP server and Claude to generate campaign ideas for TTRPGs. The core idea is to see how well LLMs can do when given external, random, and possibly conflicting constraints.

Ya. They just announced that at Hamvention a few days ago.

That's a nice radio. Does all the things and you could always buy an amplifier for it if you wanted to run more power. Honestly, I'd like to get a nice field radio and this might be worth considering.

I paid $1200 for mine a couple of years ago. I haven't had to buy much else since but, ya, it's not exactly a field radio.

Ultimately, you need a cable that can send and receive audio and a means to push the PTT button. You can actually do this with a DigiRig and a Baofeng. Well, maybe not FT8 as that's SSB, but you can do packet radio and APRS that way.

I’ll also add that the Yaesu FT991a does everything and more. Plenty of room to grow with that radio.

Regardless, I'd focus on upgrading your license first. Then you can gear up for a really nice radio that does all the things with all the power. After all, acquiring gear is the best part of a hobby and everybody likes more power!

If you can do voice, you can do FT8 and JS8Call. It's just data encoded in an HF SSB audio signal. I was more curious if your license class allows you to do it or not on 10m. Those modes are optimized for QRP so you could get a lot further with them with 10w.

Can you do digital modes like JS8Call or FT8?
comment in response to post
Also, what radio do you have for 10m?
comment in response to post
We could try that. Not sure it’ll work with my current antenna but I have done FT8 into Europe with it and I did get a nice DX antenna that I need to try out. Of course, right now I’m in Norway… I do plan to take my rig out with me camping in a few weeks. Maybe try then?

If you'd like to talk to this particular nerd, I'm down. We can talk about embeddings, semantic search, memes, Bigfoot, Florida Man—whatever you like. Might even work some ham radio in there if you're not careful.

How’s the burning and pillaging there? Gotta honor my ancestors.
comment in response to post
For me, I'm not sure it ended up making much of a difference.

They did. Means some of my ancestors were busy paying the Danegeld. And others were collecting it.
